Normally, introductions are boring and tiring to read, but I'll keep it short. This book is about how a small kid like myself grew up in a stressful, depressing, wasteful, and condescending life. Nothing could ever go right for me, but that was my perspective of how things went for me because of how negatively I looked at my life, my self-image, ME in general. It all made me feel this way the day I discovered that my mother had passed on, only knowing that at the age of 7 growing up life was difficult and hard to live by alone. I had no one to cry to, no one to have true happiness with. It all felt like it was being planted onto my shoulders, and I had to pick myself up when I fell. In the beginning of my childhood, I lived with my dad, and him being a single parent was hard. Luckily, my dad got help from my aunts. From the age of just 3 months to the age of 5, I had been moving aunt to aunt. In a direct way, I have 8 aunts, each I considered as a mother. I soon was introduced to a stepmother at the age of 5, which led me to life with my dad for the first time and my stepmother. At that age, watching movies like Cinderella made me assume that all stepmothers are the same: evil, mean, inconsiderate, rude, and basically love their own. I honestly believe that the type of image that has to be projected into a young child's mind is absolutely wrong. Most princess movies indirectly indicate that to have success, fame, and wealth, you need a man. I believe as a wise woman told me, "any woman can do what a man can do, even x300 better than them," and instantly I agreed because degrading a young female to a person who is expected to clean, cook, have babies, and marry a man is absolutely wrong. I understand there are specific cultures that expect you to do such things. It's really painful to have to see such. A lady, no, a woman deserves independence, having to take the time to work on themselves to mold themselves into that beautiful, smart, independent woman. So, this book is really going to open a new perspective on how you view things.Enjoy!
