lark: can i ask you something?
joanne: anything, i guess.
lark: why is your brother so effected by your parents divorce? they're still living together and being pretty civilized, i think, you told me that two days ago? yes.
joanne: there was a couple of years when he was completely dependant on them, he... it was a tough time for him.
lark: i'm guessing you don't want to talk about it?
joanne: not really, no.
lark: well, i think it's time that young joanne, here, learned a bit more about me.
joanne: never call me that, larky.
lark: okay, fine, don't call me larky.
joanne: [shrugs]
lark: i work at a diner near here actually. heard of it? pete's pancakes and pasta?
joanne: oh, i've heard of it. never been.
lark: it's great. food and service, both.
joanne: you're just required to say it.
lark: ha. i don't know what you're insinuating.
joanne: sure.
lark: seriously. i don't.
joanne: you just think you're so funny.
