joanne: how's yours bed friend?

lark: you said you wouldn't go to the diner.

joanne: no. i said i wouldn't become a regular.

lark: two days in a row?

joanne: whatever.

lark: are you mad at me?

joanne: i don't know.

lark: what do you even mean by that?

joanne: i'm not mad at you, i'm sorry.

lark: [sighs] it's alright.

joanne: are you mad at me?

lark: ish.

joanne: why?

lark: why don't you want people to know me?

joanne: [laughs] i'm sneaking out in the middle of the night to hang out with you. besides we're not dating or anything, it doesn't matter if people know you or not.

lark: i understood the first reason. i don't understand the second.

joanne: oh, that came out wrong-

lark: i think i'll go now.
