Chapter 5

"Wh- Why is Chika not here yet?! I can't have lunch here alone! I don't even know where the cafeteria is... I hope she comes back-" Suddenly the door opened, revealing three girls.

"We're not Chika but I think we can help you out for now!" Matsuura-san said as she, Ohara-san and Dia-san entered the club room.

"Matsuura-san, Ohara-san, Dia-san! Thank God you guys are here..." I said as I sighed in relief.

"Oh? It's because I received reports of many students seeing Chika walking with a boy here inside the school." Dia-san said to me.

"We had our suspicions, you know?" Ohara-san said as she chuckled.

"But when lunch break came in, Chika asked us to check on you and be with you for lunch." Matsuura-san said as she finished Ohara-san's statement.

"Thank you so much, Matsuu-"

"It's Kanan."

"K- Kanan-san?" I asked.

"I want to be called 'Mari-san' as well!"

"Fine, Mari-san..." I said as I smiled a little.

"Hmmm... You already call me by my first name, Y/n-san, how so?" Dia-san asked.

"I would call you by your last name if you didn't have a younger sister, Dia-san. I also call Ruby-san by her first name." I explained to Dia-san as she blushed.

"I see... I- I forgot about that. Anyways, let's head to the cafeteria already." Dia-san said as the three of us nodded in agreement and made our way to the cafeteria.

"Kanan-san, I think I'm getting an uncomfortable amount of stares here in the cafeteria." I said to her as the four of us sat down and began to eat.

"What did you expect? You're a boy in an all-girls school and the student council president is here with you. Don't you think that'd raise some questions?" Kanan-san said as she chuckled.

"Don't mind them, Y/n-san. Kanan is right though." Dia-san said as she continued eating.

After a few more minutes, the third-years and I then finished eating lunch as they went their separate paths as I walked back to the club room with me again receiving stares as usual.

"I've only sat down inside this room yet this feels like one of the most tiring days I've ever had." I said to myself as I felt a vibration coming from my pocket.

"A notification? Who may this be?" I said to myself as I took out my phone from my pocket. I pressed the power button as the screen showed up.

"Kaichou: So how's Numazu? Have you found your love? I mean, Sakurauchi-san of course!" The text read. Hmmm? How is she so optimistic for me?

"I'm currently here in Uranohoshi, at Riko's school. It's an all-girls school and I had lots of the students looking at me but besides that, it's been going fine. But with Riko? We never had a proper conversation just yet." I typed and sent the message to her.

"Kaichou: I see you're in a pretty unique position. Well then, I wish you the best of luck, Y/n." Kaichou said as a reply back.

"Thanks, I need all the luck I can get... probably :)" I texted as I put my phone back in my pocket and rested my head on the table.

"Sleep sounds nice as Chika woke me up really early a while back. They won't mind if I sleep here, right?" I said to myself as my eyes started to close until I dozed off to sleep.

"Y/n! Wake up!" A voice said, distracting me from my sleep.

"Mom, 5 more minutes!" I shouted, not wanting to open my eyes as now the voice got louder and is starting to shake my body.

"It's me, Chika!" Chika said as I quickly opened my eyes and stood up.

"Ah- I'm sorry. Anyways, what's up?" I said, still composing myself after the nap.

"Head with me, will you? I have something to show." Chika said as I nodded. The two of us exited the room and started heading on our way wherever Chika wanted to show me.

"So where are we going?" I asked.

"You'll see soon enough!" Chika said as I sighed in defeat. After a minute or two of walking, we now reached the place. I opened the door and it revealed the rest of Aqours with Riko sitting nearby the piano.

"Eh?! I knew something was planned from the very start..." I said as Chika led me to sit down on one of the seats.

Suddenly, Riko started playing... The notes sounded all too familiar. It was the piece Riko was supposed to play when she got nervous and failed.

"Y'know Riko planned this all by herself." Watanabe-san said to me.

"She did? I- I'm glad..." Were all the words I was able to blurt out.

I admired her to the fullest, every touch of the key and it just played with my heart like it was a guitar being strummed. She ended with the final notes and stood up. Aqours clapped as I was left starstrucked. I stood up and started to walk to her. I don't know what I'm doing but I know what I'm doing is right.

"Y- Y/n?" Riko said as I held her hands. Suddenly, I kissed her as I heard the other members gasp from my sudden action.

"I love you, Riko. When I first laid my eyes on you, there was never a time that I kept it off. You're my one and only. Let's rediscover the love we lost, shall we?" I said to her as she hugged me.

"Yes! I'd love to!" RIko said as Aqours celebrated.

"Let's go on a date tomorrow?" I asked her.

"Let's!" Riko said as she smiled. The smile I've longed for... I've seen it again so close to me.
