~a year later~
"Before we start the graduation ceremony, may we first have a message from our very own student council president, Y/n L/n!" A subordinate of mine said as I went to the podium whilst receiving applause from all around the venue.
"Time flies so fast, no? It was as if yesterday when I just became the student council president. But we're here, time for us to part ways with Otonokizaka and face our future endeavors. My first day here in Otonokizaka was filled with me making new discoveries. It was like I had to see every inch of this place as I wasn't the most adaptable when it came to new environments. But now, I could still say the same. The school changed so much that it feels like it's a new one but is still pertaining to it's old roots. But as much as my best memories were infused in the walls and corridors of this place, it also has had its fair share of pains and hardships brought to me... Especially student council work." I joked, making the other students and even the teachers laugh.
"I thank all of you guys for being part of my high school journey. You guys made it a whole lot better, tenfold if I may. This may sound cliche but it's not the destination that matters, it's the friends we made along the way. The people you met here and became friends with are the people that will always be by your side no matter what. I hope even after we go to different schools, different cities, or even different countries... May we not forget where we came from. That is all and happy graduation. Thank you!" I said as I bowed and went away from the podium. The crowd clapped and cheered as we went on with the event.

*RING*
"Y/n, wake up!" A voice said, disturbing my peaceful trance as I heard the faint noise of the alarm clock.
"5 more minutes mom!" I said, refusing to open my eyes.
"Mom? We're gonna be late for classes, Y/n." H- Huh? I opened my eyes as I saw Riko right in front of me.
"Jeez, we've been living in the same apartment for months now and you still think Mrs. L/n is the one waking you up." Riko said as she pouted. How cute.
"Alright, I- I'll get ready now." I said as I stood up and went to the bathroom and took a piss.
"I readied breakfast for us and we're gonna meet up with Chika-chan and Yō-chan later." Riko said as she took a bite.
"I see... It's been a while since I met them as well. Have you heard news about Ruby-chan, Hanamaru-chan, and Yoshiko-chan?" I asked.
"They're doing fine in Numazu." Riko said as she smiled.
"They were just so cute back then. They'll surely grow up to be fine women." I said to Riko.
"You say that like you're a lot older than them." Riko said as she chuckled.
"Heh? Being in college makes me feel superior." I said as the two of us laughed. After that, we finished breakfast and got ourselves ready to head out.

"Thank you for spending time with us tonight!" Chika said.
"Yeah, you two could have had other plans but you guys insisted on meeting with us." Yō said, continuing Chika's statement.
"It's nothing, we wanted to see you guys anyways because it's been a while." Riko said to the two girls.
"Yup! Call us anytime, we'd like to spend more time with you guys" I said to them.
"We'll be heading off now! Again, thank you for today!" Chika said as she waved us goodbye.
"Me and Chika-chan had so much fun today! See you guys again soon!" Yō said as she too waved her farewells.
"Bye bye!" Me and Riko both said as we waved them our farewells as well.
"It's just the two of us alone again~ Care to join me in a walk around the city? And perhaps talk about life a bit?" I said as I softly chuckled, not that it mattered though. The rustling and ever so busy city of Tokyo was noisy and soft whispers and chuckles were inaudible.
"Sure! We have no classes tomorrow so we can stay up all night to our heart's content." Riko said as she held my hand. We then started walking around the place we're in. The streets were always so noisy even back then when I was still in high school.
"The lights are blinding me." I said as I chuckled.
"You should've gotten used to it by now though." Riko relented.
"Actually, you're right..." I said as I looked at her, as if giving up my point that easily.
"Why would I not get used to blinding lights when the one in front of me is the one that shines the brightest?" I said as Riko blushed madly.
"Do- Don't catch me off guard like that..." Riko said, as I laughed.
"You're cute, may I take you out on a date?" I asked jokingly.
"I'll think about it~" Riko joked as we continued on our night walk.
"I love you, Y/n."
"I love you too."
The world is filled with uncertainties with some better and some worse. But to tackle these uncertainties with you is all I've ever asked for. Time flies fast when I need it the most but when I'm with you it feels as if everything's slow. Love is in slow motion, they may say. Let's discover new things together. Everyday is a new adventure filled with new discoveries. I'd love to do it all with you, Riko.
