THE PANTHER

Everyone talked about the panther that lived far into the jungle

Within all the green land and big trees there lived a full white panther in the right light it would appear silver

But what did they say

That it lived alone because it terrorized everyone

That if anyone came across it they would turn to dust

People and other animals feared such a creature

Then one day a little mouse who was running from the cats ran straight into the jungle

The little mouse didn't know what was inside or who people spoke about

This little mouse always had to run

Everyone wanted to make a meal out of him

He couldn't be in one place for a long time

So he ran and ran

When finally he stopped feeling anyone behind him

He tried to keep walking but stumbled and fell right into a pit

He tried to find a way out but couldn't find any

As night came and he fell asleep a glow appeared above him

He thought it was the moonlight

But the moon was already up

So what could it be he thought

Then suddenly the panther leaped inside we're he was

The mouse was frighten and panicked

What the panther told him shocked him

If the look of the panther didn't already frightened him

As he looked at the panther he saw how the light from the moon observed into its fur and he stood still trying not to move

The panther said

Little mouse what brings you here

The mouse didn't want to say a word

But at last it said

I am only here because I was being chased

The panther looked at the mouse and understood the meaning to his words

The surprising thing was that the panther was a female

But what was she doing far into the jungle

The panther then spoke

It wasn't a decision like you, I was chased

Everyone feared her for her appearance and her tone

Then suddenly they both heard a rustling

Then a large leopard appeared

It came into the pit and it started to attack the panther

As it tried to struck it it said

I got you now panther

I've been waiting for you

She dodged the strike

And lashed out at the leopard

Then suddenly she vanished

The leopard grew angry even more furious that she got away again

The mouse was trying to not make a sound

It made itself into a small ball

Then out of nowhere the panther came from above and landed straight above the leopard

And it wrapped it's teeth into the leopards neck and the leopard fell to the floor without another sound

Other than the thud

The mouse looked and found that the panther came back for him

His heart felt joy

He couldn't believe what she would do for someone she didn't know

The mouse thanked the panther and the panther nodded it's acceptance

She took the mouse with her and together they made a team

He had to ask her how was it that she could do that

She said that it had to be done because that leopard only inflicted pain

Then he wanted to know how was she able to vanish like that

That she didn't want to say

Because it was just speed and precision

Something no one would believe

That moonlight observed in her fur started to change

And the moon  appeared as a woman

Both of them stood there just looking

They couldn't believe what they were seeing

She said

There is no greater heart than that of a selfless being or creature

She then asked the panther if she wanted a wish

The panther couldn't believe it

But what wish could she ask for

She was used to solitude

And now she had a friend

But she hadn't asked the mouse

The mouse maybe he had a wish

She told the mouse to make the wish for them

The mouse couldn't believe it

He then thought well if she and he lived the same then why shouldn't they be something

He looked at the panther and asked her if she wanted to live her life together with him

The panther didn't know what to say

The moon then smiled at both and made the decision for them

Her light wrapped around them and both turned into humans

The moon goddess made them a home and gave them what they needed to survive

As a parting gift she gave them protection if anything were to happen

Then she left but not before the two said their goodbyes and thank you's to her
