"Don't move" I warned Damon. Let me explain why. Well, it was night and a werewolf was standing in front of us, growling. That's it.
"Am I the supernatural creature here or you?" he asked. "Don't move" he warned this time.
"Yeah, well. You can move fast right? Let's get out of here" I whispered.
"Didn't you just tell me not to move? And he can run too" he hissed. "Or rather chase!" he teased the werewolf.
"Damon!" I slapped his arm. "Don't tempt him"
"How do you know it's a 'him'?" he asked, making air quotes. I shook my head in frustration which made the wolf growl even louder.
"He is looking at me. Obviously he is a guy....wolf" I concluded.
"Yeah, right" he chuckled. I thought it would be better to shut up and so I did. I looked around, there were no other wolves in sight. I looked up. It was dark but something caught my eye. I looked at the sky, no there wasn't a moon. I pulled Damon's sleeve. "What?" he asked.
"Today is not a full moon" I pointed at the sky. But the werewolf's gaze remained focused on us.
"Oh no! What are you? Modern version of Cinderella?" he rolled his eyes.
I controlled my anger and pulled his arm this time. "He isn't real. They turn only when there is a full moon, idiot" . Damon opened his mouth to say something but shut it. He ran forward, the vampire speed ( I'm gonna call that vampire style here on) and opened his arms to catch the wolf but he went through it. I smiled, when Damon looked back at us. Then, I pointed at a branch and said , "Projector" .
"Ahhhhhh" Damon mummered.
"Ahhhhh" I repeated and laughed all the way back to our car.
"Wait" He said when I was crossing over to my jeep. "Why would someone put up a projector when there are real werewolves?"
"Only one possibility. They knew we were coming" I said and hopped in.
"You know anyone?" he asked, leaning against his car. I pursed my lips and looked at him. "You do know!" he suddenly exclaimed and walked towards me.
"Of course I do. By now you should accept the fact that I'm smarter than you" I tossed my head and laughed an evil laugh. When I looked in the front, he was gone. But the car was there.
"I can compel you" he said, appearing from nowhere and holding my head. I shut my eyes and cupped my ears.
"Promise not to kill him" I said when I couldn't feel his hands on my face anymore.
"Argh!" he groaned. "Promise"
"Fine. When I find him I'll let you know" Damon looked at me like as if I told him Katherine was back. We all know that look. "He is one among those 19 students, Damon. I have to find out which group and if he did it or not and you won't bother about all this if you get him first. He is a very smart kid. He deserves to live"
"Well , he shouldn't have taken this project"
"He didn't. His parent's forced him to, since it counts as extra credit for the finals and they are members of the council"
"I need to kill everybody on this council" he said clenching his teeth and banging his fist on my jeep.
"Hey! Hurt your baby, not mine" I said and rested my chin on the steering wheel. His phone rang and he flipped it open and cheerful said, "Hello brother! How are the kids?"
"Speaker! Put him on speaker" I mouthed. But he didn't. He simply nodded and continued, "she is on her way home. Just buried her friend. So emotional" he wiped an imaginary tear.
