When Aurelia found out that she had been invited over to the Angels for dinner she nearly turned them down. But, she remembered that she had made a deal with them once her mother had died. And it stuck even after her brother's death. Now, once every month, Aurelia had to go to the Angels place for one meal. Aurelia sighed, as she changed into a spare dress she had in the boot of her car. It was a black cotton dress with no designs and no sleeves. She braided her hair and walked to the Angels' place. The lush greenery and the smell of dewdrops on leaves almost made her forget all her problems. The keyword being almost.

Aurelia rang the doorbell and waited patiently for someone to answer. Unfortunately, Easton was the one who opened the door.

"'Sup! You here for dinner?" Easton asked casually.

"No, I'm here for breakfast." Aurelia rolled her eyes. She didn't want to seem like a helpless, homeless child and when Easton had asked her if she was there for dinner, she almost felt like the Angels were feeding her food just because she didn't have any money or food or home.

Apparently though, Easton seemed to think that Aurelia's comeback was good humoured so he chuckled light heartedly. Aurelia followed Easton through the house. Silver chandeliers hung from the ceiling and the diamonds on them sparkled. The hallway was full of photo frames of Easton and his parents but as Aurelia walked further down the hallway, she saw picture frames of her and her family as well. There was one of Aurelia, Easton and Aurelia's brother, arms around each other, laughing. Aurelia looked younger, her hair in two French braids instead of one, and glitter in her brown eyes. Easton seemed to notice her slowing down as she looked at her family's photos because he stopped walking as well. Tears welled in Aurelia's eyes but she forced herself not to let them pour down. She couldn't. She had to be strong.

"Seems like it just happened yesterday huh?" Easton asked, his eyes full of nothing but kindness.

"I remember that day...We were at the beach, and you and Derrick buried me in the sand. Mom and Mrs Angel didn't like it one bit because they thought that crabs might be in the sand and that scared me. You and Derrick pretended to be crabs and walked around me chanting holy songs. You guys made me laugh so hard the sand all fell off of me and then Dad, Mr Angel, you and Derrick all had to come with me inside the water to wash off. I nearly floated away so you all had to pull me by my limbs back to the shore. Everyone laughed at that and we all had ice cream only yours fell in the sand so I had to share mine," Aurelia remembered that day, clear as a crystal, because she had a blast with the Angels and her family. She smiled slightly, dazed off into the memory. Easton watched her with a gentle look, and something else, which she couldn't quite place.

"We shared an ice cream huh? You must've had fun." He laughed, amusement shown in his eyes.

"Oh shut up! It was disgusting, I remember. I made a weird face because we were sharing an ice cream and you scowled." Despite herself, Aurelia laughed.

"Of course I scowled. No boy would want to share an ice cream with a girl who has a razor-sharp tongue and doesn't act at all like a girl." Easton must've wanted it to sound funny because he laughed but Aurelia took it personally. She remembered Zara saying the same thing about her not acting like a girl or looking like one. Aurelia knew that the statement shouldn't have hurt her because it was true, she didn't like looking all prissy, but still. She didn't think that she didn't act like a girl. She was sure she chewed with her mouth closed. Just a few seconds ago Easton and her were actually laughing together after a long time. But he had to go ahead and ruin it all. Easton had changed after all.
