The next day, Aurelia had managed to dry off her dress. She did live in her broken run down car so the air conditioner didn't work in it. Instead it gave off hot air. She was able to dry herself off before heading to school. She was in Hamlin high on a scholarship obviously, and she didn't dare do anything out of line to get kicked out. She needed a good job to live properly. She took her backpack and walked to school. By now Aurelia was used to all the stares and whispers she got while she walked down the hallway. She strode with confidence to her locker which unfortunately was right next to Zara's.

"Ahh. Same clothes as yesterday?" Zara asked, faking innocence. Yesterday was Sunday. Aurelia thought.

"You've been pretty jobless to be stalking me Zara." Aurelia said, calmly.

Zara gasped so loudly one might have thought that she was having a heart attack.

"How dare you?! I've been nothing but nice to you!" Zara yelled. This was a first. She usually made fun of Aurelia relentlessly but she never yelled. Aurelia hated it when people yelled at her. Her family members were the only people who shouted at her and all of them were no more, more or less. She didn't want to think about that. But Zara's yelling and words touched a soft spot in her.

"Nice to me?! What is wrong with you?! I understand I'm not up to your standards, Miss pink prom queen, but you have no right to raise your voice at me and no right to say that you've been nice to me!" Aurelia let hell loose upon Zara.

Zara scoffed.

"Says the girl whose brother died on a motorbike and whose mother died because of a heart condition. So pathetic." Aurelia had no idea why Zara was being particularly mean that day but she didn't care. What she did care about though was the fact that she had insulted her dead family. That hit home.

"Why do you have to be so mean today?! What the hell did I do to you?! I seriously want to know. Because honestly talking about someone's family like that is just the thing that the most pathetic excuse of a human being would say. But you know what? Why am I wasting my time with you? I should've known that some girl like you, who thinks she knows everything, would have no heart and would insult other people who are much less fortunate." Aurelia was trying really hard not to cry. Lately she tried super hard not to let anything that happened in her past life get to her, and she tried really hard not to think about it as well. But Zara had to be a mean asshole and ruin all of that and more, for her.

"Zara! What are you doing?" Aurelia knew that voice. She had known it since the day she was born. And she didn't like it one bit. It was Easton, and like always, Zara would make herself look innocent and Aurelia would have to look bad in front of the crowd that was slowly starting to form. Zara, unlike Aurelia, was pretty, and Zara herself knew it. She had blue eyes and blonde hair and she was much much much shorter than Aurelia, who was taller than all the girls in her grade.

"Uglia here just insulted you, Easton!" Zara complained, as though insulting Easton was the worst thing one could ever do. Aurelia rolled her eyes.

"That's not shocking," Easton looked Aurelia's way, and she rolled her eyes, "But, Zara, I heard your conversation with Aurelia, and I didn't think you could be that mean. Why would you say that? It was pretty insensitive." Aurelia couldn't believe it. Easton was actually standing up for her in front of his girlfriend? That was pretty messed up if you knew Easton. For some reason she didn't know, her stomach squeezed and her heart hurt. She was almost grateful to Easton but then remembered that she didn't need anyone standing up for her. She wiped away a rolling tear angrily.

"Oh, my precious East! I saw you holding Uglia's hand yesterday. And you know me and my possessive side. You said you love that about me." Zara fake pouted and glared at Aurelia. This time though, when Easton talked to Zara he didn't bother to correct Aurelia's name.

"Zara. Aurelia is kind of important to my family, which makes her important to me. I wasn't holding her hand, I was stopping her from going out in the rain." Apparently, Mister Perfect thought that telling Zara the truth would make her less mad. Wrong!

"Ugh! How many times do I have to tell you, no one. Cares. About. Aurelia." Before Easton could respond, Aurelia said, "Just stop. I don't need any of you talking about me. Just stay in your toxic relationship and leave me alone." With that, she walked away.
