(I'm procrastinating on studying for finals :D )

They escaped.

They were about to be tested to see the full extent of their ability which resulted in the guards allowing the vengestone cuffs to fall to the ground. Just as the guards were about to completely take off the collar around their neck there was a commotion, the guards were called away to kill someone who spilled footage of what they were doing to those captured. This was the chance to leave. Freedom.

The next few moments were a blur of panic, anxiety, and hope. So much hope.

Run. Run. RUn. RUN. RUN. Past the trees. Past the thick shrubs. Past the long grass and hanging moss. The dirt felt strange underneath their feet for the first time in... they don't know how long. It feels as though it's been a lifetime. Their lungs burned with each breath, legs aching from the sudden amount of strength that hasn't been used anytime recently. Not yet. They couldn't take a break yet.

Only when the sun began to rise over the horizon did they breathe. Only when the sun began to rise did they rip the unlocked collar from their neck. Throwing it down the mountainside they arrived at.

They were free.

Was the sky always this beautiful?

The weeks went by after the Decepticon's metal heist. All of their activity became as silent as a padded room. The only extraterrestrials making sound were the Autobots when discovering a new energon deposit or Ratchet's swearing when the Nemesis yet again avoids his attempts at tracking its movement. Even with Echotrace's best attempts assisting in tracking the previously sentient Trypticon, Soundwave's maneuvers were something she was never able to grasp an understanding of.

Relationships were tight when Echotrace first arrived. She understood that. After everything that happened on Cybertron, on Earth, and everywhere else the Cybertronian Civil War has decimated, it makes sense for no one to trust her. To even want to be in the same vicinity as her. Leaving her trapped inside the base, unless if it's through groundbridge to assist with mining, until she has the entire team's faith and not just Optimus's word. The Prime's faith was built on the fond memories of a youngling that hasn't existed in a long time. Echotrace may have regained her memories and her name, however, she will forever be separate from the original version of Echotrace.

Thank the Allspark for Lena and Wheeljack. If it weren't for them, Echotrace feels like she would've gone crazy from the silent treatment from the other 'Bots. While it's excellent being able to speak to her real sire, there is only so much small talk that either of them can handle. Plus, finding a topic that didn't end with either of them in a state of depression of memories was difficult. Sure, Echo could speak to him about her inventions except the Prime doesn't quite have an understanding of all the, as Lena enjoys calling it, "Science-speak". Being a former archivist, Optimus's majority of interest and understanding is history rather than calculations and mechanics other than the basic understanding of Cybertronian anatomy.

In the meantime, Lena kept a close eye on MECH. After discovering that they're the ones that her former guardian planned to sell herself and Alex to were also after Cybertronian technology, it made sense that they were to be kept a close eye on. There was something else to MECH that bothered her. Lena couldn't help but feel as though she had heard that name before. Before all of this. Before she even knew this 'MECH' existed.

~After Emerald went into stasis~

Knockout had been intensely patching up the severe mess on the back of the femme's helm caused by the Decepticon lord's carelessness towards the sparkling for the last few Earth hours.
