Stalking down the halls of Memorial High. Masking the top half of her face with her red hoodie that somehow also managed to keep her waist-length hair inside. Pleading to whatever deity there was that she wouldn't accidentally trip on her orange sneakers. Her legs, covered by black jeans, quickly stepping to get to the last period of the day without being noticed by any of the schools' tormentors that lurk the halls during the passing period as kids transition from one class to the other. People around her always gossiped questions as to why she always wore clothes that covered her entire body. Saying how she was 'heatproof', not that it's wrong, but it's mainly to hide the scars and bruises littering her body.

No one has seen the upper half of the face in a year. The only information that people in the small town know is that she never speaks to anyone unless necessary, she always quickly retreats back to the orphanage, and how different her brother is from her. Watching the boy grow up, everyone quickly picked up on the fact that the brother and sister are polar opposite. He was cheerful, extroverted, a little shy at times, an overall nice kid. Meanwhile, his sister was exceedingly anti-social, which often led to her being bullied.

The head of the orphanage chose the two sibling's last names when they suddenly appeared at his doorstep. Her brother, Alex Rose, was a few months old baby. The 6-year-old Lena Rose had no memory of her past whatsoever besides her and her brother's first name and age.

A loud bang of a body being shoved into the lockers doesn't echo but was loud enough to catch some people's attention before they continued walking away, not wanting to be involved. Her head landing on the combination lock of the faded green paint of the small storage space. The dark-skinned girl held in a yelp while one of the many tormentors of the group holds her by the shoulders. The sneering red-head hisses, "Well if it ain't the orphan. Where do ya think you're going, freak? You gonna try to call for mommy and daddy?" his slightly greenish eyes sharply looking for some sort of reaction from her, his small amount of freckles make him seem more annoying than the public opinion of freckles being 'cute' on everyone. Not to mention his usually light skin was redder than a tomato from being in the sun too long. Vince was never a great sight to behold.

A sharp pain went through her mind. Just great, she thought, it might be another pit-spawn bruise. Rolling her amber eyes. The injuries and bruises from the previous night already left her sore but the locker-shove just made it worse. Just why are humans so cruel? Then again, they're killing their own planet so they're not only cruel but stupid as well.

Squirming against his grip as he begins pulling back his fist when the first warning bell rang, startling Vince. Taking this as her chance to escape, Lena pushes him away, forcefully shoving the red-head over as she began running to her next period before the second warning bell rings.

Lena can feel her tight dark-brown curls bouncing on the inside of her hood as she speedwalks into the classroom, free from the bullies. Them knowing full well that the teacher will stop them from messing with their best student. Although the orphan sees competition between herself and another boy who was recently brought to her grade, Rafael Esquivel. Raphael, while only being 12-years-old, made it quite clear about his intellectual abilities. Resulting in him being boosted a few grades, entering the Sophomore year of High School. As much as she appreciates someone with an intellect close to hers, she doesn't like the competition.

Quietly sitting in her seat at the back corner of the class, on the opposite side of the window. Taking out the essentials she needs for the class, notebook, writing utensils, a textbook. Once the bell rang, the teacher began their lecture on trigonometry, and Lena began scribbling the notes down.
