I will remind my readers that this is my alternate universe so it's my logic of how things work. Some historic stuff will be true but of course with a mutant twist. Also, I'm kinda basing this off X-men and got the 'vengestone' idea from Ninjago.
All mutants have a genetic mutation called an X-Gene that causes their bodies to develop abilities that regular humans are incapable of doing. It is very rare for two mutants to have a human offspring. Homo sapiens, a fancy word for humans, cannot give birth to a mutant. Only on rare occasions can two humans produce a mutant offspring.
The world used to be full of them four decades ago. Forty years ago, an unknown organization began hunting mutants. One by one they were picked off and no one knows where they went or what became of them. All they know is that mutants are now in hiding and the population becomes lower with each passing day.
If a human wanted to learn about mutants, how they're created, what type of flaws(what mutants call 'abilities') they had, they'd need to go to the library and read the few books of mutant knowledge ever recorded since their discovery in ancient Greece. Some people even theorize that the 'gods' ancient civilizations worshipped were mutants. But no one knows for sure since they may as well have been gods who created mutants to keep the peace of the world in balance.
Governments know about the existence of mutants. Different parties want to use their abilities to make the country stronger, use their powers for war to overpower countries they see as inferior. While other parties want to protect them, seeing mutants as a more advanced product of humans who deserve to be treated as a human, not a weapon.
So it went, the hidden war between mutants and hunters. All that is known of the hunters is how they use vengestone to capture and contain them.
Vengestone is a metal that has no effect on mutant flaws and will halter the flaws of any mutant it comes in contact with. Rumors say that they use vengestone to torture those captured to the point of death.
Flight: The ability to project oneself through the air, without assistance. Some mutants have this ability naturally, while others can use their main ability to simulate flight such as Weather Manipulation and Telekinesis
