"Are you coming from Cyrene? If yes then we need to check you." The guards at the border said.
"Yeah." Jaeun handed her bag to them.
"Why did you went there? Do you have any connec-"
"Our town has ran out of green chilli sauce." Jaeun cut him off. "So I had to literally go over to another kingdom to get it. How is that my fault?"
"It's the protocol. Please stand aside and-"
"Let her go."
The guards bowed to the owner of the voice and let Jaeun in who was struggling with her grocery.
"Give it to me."
Jaeun handed the bags to him as they started walking towards her home which wasn't that far from the border.
"Why do they check everyone? If they are so paranoid about Cyrene then might as well not send the prince's there." Jaeun commented.
"They are just doing their job, eun." Felix sighed.
Lee Felix was Jeongin's bestfriend as well as a high ranked official in the palace but before all that happened, he was Jaeun's partner in survival.
They had practically grew up together and while withstanding the continuous wars and bloodshed.
Jaeun hated the idea that he was going to join forces with the royalty that pretty much destroyed their childhood but who was she to stop him and moreover it did Felix more good than bad.
" Will they check the princes? No, right? It's always us who has to suffer. Royalty my foot."
"You really shouldn't talk like that." Felix scolded. " You will get in trouble one day."
"Won't you save me?" Jaeun asked.
"Not if you are against Channie Hyung and Innie." Felix shrugged.
"Yeah whatever." Jaeun grabbed her bags and went inside her home, slamming the door. "I hate you bokie."
Felix laughed as he walked back to the gates of the kingdom.
"Went at your friend's?
"Oh? Minho Hyung." Felix turned around. " You are here."
"Yes, I was bored." Minho sighed. "They should let us go with Chan and Jeongin too. What if something poses threat to them?"
"I know… right?" Felix said. "It's boring without them."
"Why? Couldn't your girl entertain you for a little?" Minho smirked.
"Who? Jaeun?" Felix asked. " She would kill me if I ask her to do something like that. She's scary."
"She seems like a threat." Minho laughed looking at how afraid Felix looked.
"She really is!" Felix said in a way to make Minho take him seriously.
.
"Good job guys!" Seungmin clapped once they were out of everyone's sight and the cheers slowly died down.
"Jeongin did mess up though." Hyunjin said in a mocking tone.
"You don't have to point at everything, I know that already!" Jeongin snapped.
"Hyunjin." Seungmin said , hoping he would get the hint.
"What? Can't I say the truth? It was all so perfect but he had to mess it up." Hyunjin argued. " He should have practiced more."
Jeongin didn't say a word but Chan saw how he tightened his fists.
"It's okay guys, we can do better next time." Chan said trying to handle the situation.
"Yeah but shouldn't you be atleast a little sorry for that?" Hyunjin said expecting Jeongin to fight back.
"Sorry." Jeongin left.
Chan immediately ran after the younger while Hyunjin stood there in shock. He didn't knew Jeongin would react that way.
"What is wrong with you Hyunjin? Behave!" With that Seungmin left too leaving Hyunjin there to contemplate.
"Yah , Han Jisung!" Hyunjin called and Jisung stepped closer to him.
"What?"
"Should I apologize?"
"Do you want me to say it as your bestfriend or as the advisor?" Jisung asked.
"Bestfriend?" Hyunjin mumbled , confused.
"Of course bitch! Go and apologize. What is wrong with you huh? He is just a kid!" Jisung scolded. "Now, let's go!"
"Why do I feel like you are the Prince!?" Hyunjin asked.
"Shut up." Jisung walked away and Hyunjin followed him behind closely.
"Woah..you are scolding me too." He muttered.
"What-" Seungmin shushed them both as they could hear the faint sobs of Jeongin and Chan talking to him from outside of the carriage.
"Good job, innie." Chan said.
"Which part? I did a terrible job as a whole." Jeongin sobbed.
"No, that's not true. It's okay man." Chan gave him a hug. "When did you get so big? I can't even hug you now."
It made Jeongin smile a bit.
"Just think of it as a phase and you can do a better job next time."
"Yes."
"Besides, I made quite a few mistakes too." Chan chuckled and wiped his brother's tears away.
The door of the carriage opened soon and the brothers came out.
"Sorry to keep you all waiting." Chan apologized. " Ah we had a situation."Hyunjin glanced at Jeongin who held on to Chan's arms and kept looking down at his feets.
"Hey Jeongin, I am sorry." Hyunjin said even though it hurt his pride a bit to apologize to him.
"It's alright." Jeongin mumbled.
"We will leave now."
"What? Hyung, aren't you staying?" Seungmin's face dropped. "We didn't even spend any time together."
"Sorry Seungmo, you see mom and dad are also here so there technically no one at the city and moreover we didn't brought Felix or Minho with us too." Chan said apologetically.
Seungmin was sad but understood.
"Talk to uncle about coming over with Hyunjin." Chan said one more time.
"Yes! Seungmin Hyung when you come over I will show you my collection of dried flowers too!" Jeongin said excitedly and hugged him once before they left towards their own transport.
Hyunjin was a bit salty about Jeongin not acknowledging him but he prevented himself from saying anything more offensive.
"We are brothers.. we should have been together always." Seungmin muttered under his breath and then glared at Hyunjin.
"What? I apologized."
"As you should? It's not something to be proud of Hyun. "
"Ah okay but don't be angry please!" Hyunjin pleaded.
"Go home with Jisung. I will leave with Changbin." Seungmin walked away.
"Hey ! Yah! KIM SEUNGMIN!" Hyunjin yelled but when Seungmin just left he looked Jisung.
"Let's go, Hyunjin." Jisung sighed pulling Hyunjin with him.
"Should I get Seungmin an ice cream? Why is he so mad?" Hyunjin whined.
"Introspection. Do that." Jisung rolled his eyes.
"Why are you all acting so cold? I will cry."
"Cry."
