A few hours later they were already outside the UN, ready to go in and tell about the atrocities that was going on back home.
"Will they allow us to go in though?" Jaeun asked.
"Yes, I already made arrangements for it." Chan answered as they went inside the glorious building, adorned with pictures of leaders of the past and works of history. They were in awe of everything .
"Only Mr. Bang Chan is allowed inside." The security stopped them.
"Hyung, fighting!" Seungmin wished the elder as the security led the remaining of them to the suites they were supposed to be in.
Chan nodded with an exhausted smile as he went in and the doors closed behind.
Jaeun patted Hyunjin's back to comfort him. He seemed to have been calmed down a little , probably he was extremely fatigued with all that happened at once.
"We will room together!" Jeongin said to him, hoping that it would make Hyunjin's mind clear even for a minute.
Much to Jeongin's disappointment it did not deter Hyunjin even in the slightest.
Hyunjin had once read in a book that ;
'People in the real world always say, when something terrible happens, that the sadness and loss and aching pain of the heart will lessen as time passes, but it isnt true.
Sorrow and loss are constant, but if we all had to go through our whole lives carrying them the whole time, we wouldnt be able to stand it. The sadness would paralyze us.
So in the end we just pack it into bags and find somewhere to leave it.'
To Hyunjin it seemed like he will never be able to pack the sadness into bags , to him it seemed that the stabbing pain will always remain.
As Seungmin saw Hyunjin, he couldn't help but wonder if it was better for them to have remain oblivious or even better if they had never visited Mycenae.
He wondered if he hadn't convinced his dad to let them visit Chan , if Changbin and Han would have been here, joking around.
It seemed like those loud, neverending bickerings in the palace was far more beautiful than the silence in their life now.
"It's not your fault." Hyunjin said.
Seungmin looked back at him in surprise, perhaps his little brother had grown up enough to understand his worries now.
"I don't know Hyun.." Seungmin said quietly.
"It really isn't." Hyunjin held his hand. " If not now we would have known years and years later. Can you imagine how many innocent people would have to die then?"
Seungmin kept quite, his eyes welling up.
"Hyung, I am sure Han, Changbin hyung , Minho hyung and Felix would have definitely chose this path too."
"Instead of regretting our decisions, We should be proud of the sacrifice they made and respect them!" Jeongin smiled sadly.
"Guys.." Jaeun looked at them all. " Thank you and I love you all so much."
"Sounds like a lie to me." Jeongin joked to lighten up the mood.
"Don't act as if I didn't help with your schoolwork before, I adored you so much." Jaeun pouted .
"Okay okay!" Jeongin surrendered. "My bad."
Grief can destroy you or focus you. You can decide a relationship was all for nothing if it had to end in death, and you alone or you can realize that every moment of it had more meaning than you dared to recognize at the time, so much meaning it scared you, so you just lived, just took for granted the love and laughter of each day, and didn't allow yourself to consider the sacredness of it.
But when it's over and you're alone, you begin to see that it wasn't just a movie and a dinner together, not just watching sunsets together, not just scrubbing a floor or reading books to each other or fighting over small things.
It was everything, it was the why of life, every event and precious moment of it. The answer to the mystery of existence is the love you shared sometimes so imperfectly, and when the loss wakes you to the deeper beauty of it, to the sanctity of it, you can't get off your knees for a long time, you're driven to your knees not by the weight of the loss but by gratitude for what preceded the loss.
And the ache is always there, but one day not the emptiness, because to nurture the emptiness, to take solace in it, is to disrespect the gift of life.
For them, they weren't alone either. They had each other and they knew how to rise back.
They knew how to win.
.
"DID YOU FIND THEM?!" The king of Cyrene asked his men but only grew even more furious when he heard that they didn't find a single clue.
"What happened to the other four?"
Upon hearing the answers , both the kings sighed and sat down , clutching their head in their hands. They had recently learned about the prince's rebelling.
At first they were worried about their son's , they believed they had ran away to be stay far from this life of glamour but they knew it wasn't the case when the news of them trespassing Elenchomeni surfaced.
The kings knew that there was no way they could hide their doings anymore so their next best option was to bring them back and either convince them to join or kill/ prison them.
"Sir,"
"WHAT?" Anger evident in the voice.
"Prince is on call."
The kings looked at each other in shock and rushed to pick up.
.
Chan had explained everything to the world leaders and troops were on their way to take back control of Mycenae and Cyrene.
They did offer Chan a chance to talk to his dad and uncle once before everything changes for good and Chan took it eagerly.
He needed them to know how much they had destroyed, how low human beings they were and how much they all loathed them.
"CHAN!" He heard as soon as the call connected.
"Greetings to royalty." Chan bowed.
