Meeting your parents. Okay, so this one is a little less universal and is a bit more specific. I will be writing some dialogue in Spanish, but it will all be translated so don't worry. Okay.

You get off the plane hand in hand with your beautiful boyfriend, Phil Lester. He was going to meet you extended family today. Your tios, tias and primos. You knew your family was very overwhelming- I mean come on, they're Latinos! But you felt as you did have an advantage, if they we're going to say something rude, embarrassing or anything like that you knew they would say it in Spanish, which thankfully, Phil didn't speak.
"Just- be prepared they're a handful." You say while walking up the steps to their house, "y/n, you've been saying that for months. It's going to be fine, alright? I'll like them, I know I will." He smiles. Suddenly his accent seems much thicker then it ever has, probably because no one here in California sounds like that making it more obvious. You love every bit of it.
Knocking you hold your breath and your Tia answers the door "¡Ay mija! ¿Cómo estas? Tu novio es muy lindo. ¿Cómo se llama?" Phil looks quite confused, he knew you were Latina, but he didn't know that your family spoke spanish primarily and that it was your first language. You were quite surprised at how well your Tia was behaving, "mas a menos, Tia. ¡ay yo se ello es muy guapo ¿no? Se llama es Filippe, pero ello preferie Phil." You smiled at your aunt and Phil practically falls down hearing you speak a new, fast, language. He smiles at your aunt as she walks back into the kitchen that smells strongly of Tamales (seriously tamales are amazing, you need to try them.) Phil raises his hand, "yes, Phil?" You smile at your manchild. "Firstly, what? You speak Spanish? Why didn't you tell me? Secondly, what did she say and third, what did you reply?" You smile at the exasperated look on his face, and take a deep breath, "Yes I speak Spanish, I spoke it before I knew English and literally no one in the UK speaks Spanish so I guess I never really had a reason to speak it. She said 'how are you? Your boyfriend is so cute. What's his name?' " You giggle as Phil blushes, "I told I was doing okay, you are very handsome and his name is Philip but he prefers Phil." You smile at your now, less confused boyfriend, "does anyone here speak English?" He whispers not wanting to offend anyone which makes you laugh. "Yeah, all of them except that short one over there. That's my grandma, we call her Nina, her English is very broken but she understands it very well." Phil nods and smiles, "I am so taking you to Manchester and speaking with so much northern slang you won't understand a thing." He whispers which makes you laugh, typical phil always looking for revenge.

When they heard Phil speak they were very shocked at how thick his accent was and your nephew, who was only four, kept asking about England making the night seem much easier. They hardly spoke in Spanish except to ask if you two had slept together yet, to which you replied "¡Ay cochina!" Which means something along the line of 'you're a pig'.

Your family really liked Phil which made you happy and as far as you could tell, he liked them too. You laid down together on the bed in the guest room, when it was time to sleep. "So what did you think?" You asked impatiently, "you were right," he chuckled, "they were a handful but I really like it. I'm glad I got to see you interact with them and see where you come from, they're all really nice to me." This made you sit up and smile, "really? You liked them?" You asked hopefully, Phil pulled you down and kissed you

"Sí."
