For being early July, it was cold. To be fair, it was two in the morning, but you still found it almost insulting that it was still so cold out.
You had been out and about since seven p.m. when Phil insisted that "it's less sad if you do it with someone else." You couldn't deny the excitement in his eyes, so you put on your shoes and told him to download it on your phone.
Oh, yes.
Pokémon.
You weren't the biggest fan of Pokémon as a child, but Phil grew up with it and was ready to Catch 'Em All.
You didn't think you'd be out this late; and you certainly didn't dress for the occasion. The flip-flops you had thrown on just before leaving were now blistering the sides of your feet and walking was becoming an incredibly unfair chore. The loose shorts you were wearing seemed like a great choice! The two of you planned for a day in with movies and lots of cuddling. The thin material was starting to take its toll, but you decided to fight through the teeth chattering and keep going for Phil.
"Have you caught anything?" He asked every now and again wanting to make sure you felt included. "I told you my phone died an hour ago," you laughed and pulled your jumper even tighter clinging to any last bit of warmth. Phil turned to say something to you and then he caught glance of you, "Oh, my god, y/n. Look at you! You must be freezing," he exclaimed putting his phone in his pocket and snaking his arm around you. "The blisters on my feet are the worst part," you smile slightly, so he doesn't worry. "Baby, come on lets go-" he looks around for a moment "let's go in there!"
He leads you to a 24 hour coffee shop and you settle in there as Phil orders you something to sip on. Sitting in some place warm feels like Heaven and your toes are thankful for the break.
Phil returns with your favorite drink and something for himself, too. He grabs your hands and starts to blow on them, hoping to regain some warmth. You take a sip of your drink and lock eyes with Phil. "I had a great time tonight-""no, you didn't. But thank you for sparing my feelings. I don't feel like I was the best boyfriend today." He looks down and squeezes your hand. "You are always the best, and I can't think of anyone else in this world that I would have rather had an awful time with," you pause as he looks back up at you "watching you enjoy yourself and have so much fun made the blisters and the cold worth it." You give him a simple kiss and enjoy your drinks together.
Phil called for a taxi while you two were in the shoppe, and you nearly fell asleep on the car ride home. Neither of you realized how far you had wandered during your quest and were both thankful that taxi services exist.
The two of you headed straight to bed and Phil clutched you tightly and kissed the top of your head, "you're the best catch of all and I choose you."
