It's been bothering me. Phil's call has been on my mind a lot. The others were safe in the house , Jake was safe for the time being, there wasn't anything else we could do at the moment . I left my room and went in search of my dad i found him in his office so i knocked and entered

Dad " Hello sweetheart ,what do you need "?

Mc " why do you think i want something "?

Dad " you very rarely come into my office but when you do it usually means you want something "

I laughed because he was right. My Dad was a wealthy businessman  and I but I never liked the idea of being rich. I lived like a normal person would , the only difference is  I lived in a damn mansion ,and had a stepmother. She was another story .

Mc "  my friend jessy her brother has been arrested and they won't let his family visit him ,they also won't say why they arrested him . I want to visit him on her behalf. Can you make it possible "?

Dad " you know I'd do anything for you , what's his name "?

Mc " Phil Hawkins "

Dad " I'll take care of it "

Just then Meridith walked into the office .

Meridith " Hello mc , i haven't seen you for day's "

Mc " I've been in my room "

Meridith " we're family, you should join us more often especially for dinner "

Mc " i have lunch with my Dad ,so that's good enough for me , dad I'll be in my room working on some stuff ,let me know when it's ready "

Dad " i will sweetheart , how about we have lunch at the bootleggers today "?

Meridith " oh that sounds lovely , a family lunch "

Mc " no thanks dad I'll pass "

Dad " but it's your favorite restaurant"

Mc "  i know but I'd prefer to be just you and me "

Dad " that is what I meant "

Mc " okay " 

I left them and walked out of the office and closed the door the minute it was closed i heard her voice

Meridith " Gabe you're coddling her, she needs to spend more time with us as a family "

Dad " Meridith i love you that's why i waited until my daughter was okay with it before remarrying . She's my daughter, she's not rude to you , she's not a teenager either . Let her be she's my only child and that's the way it will stay "

Meridith " and when she gets married "?

Dad " she'll be staying right here "
