Chapter 23

Xander's POV: 

I heard a new kid was starting at our school today. 

I heard he got kicked out of his last school for beating up someone. 

He better not be another prick for Bean to deal with. 

"So what do you think the new kid is gonna be like?" Emmett asked. 

 We're walking to class with Bean. 

Her in the middle of us. 

"I have no idea, but I heard he got kicked out of his last school for beating someone up." 

"For real? That's crazy." 

"I know. I heard the kid ended up in the hospital and the new kids family had leave that town." 

"Shit. I can't believe he's coming he-" 

"Maisy?" Some kid asked staring right at Bean. 

He came walking over quite fast I'll add. 

Emmett and I put our hands in front of Bean as soon as he got a little too close for comfort. 

Bean stepped back and clung to my shirt. 

"Maisy I'm sorry. I didn't know." 

"I think you need to step back." Emmett said. 

"Please Maisy. I just want to talk." 

"Leave."I told him. 

"Maisy please.." 

"Go away..." She kind of whispered. 

Emmett just grabbed onto her and started walking away. 

That kid just stood there.

He didn't try to follow or even look back. 

We took her to an empty classroom to calm down. 

"Who was he Bean?" I asked calmly. 

"H..He was my only friend when I was little.." 

"Is your name Maisy?"

She just nodded and there were tears running down her cheeks. 

"Please don't tell...I get hurt really bad.." 

"He's not around anymore. He can't hurt you." 

"He'll come for me. He won't let me leave." 

"We won't let him take you." 

"I don't want to get punished again. Please don't tell. I don't want to get hurt Xander...Please.." She said crying. 

I don't like seeing her like this. 

"Ok I won't tell, ok? It's between us three. Do you want a hug?"

She nodded and came in for a hug. 

She clung to me and wept. 

I just wrapped my arms around her and pet her hair. 

"It's ok Bean. I've got you." 

Emmett's POV: 

I left the classroom and went to find that kid. 

When I finally did I stormed over to him. 

"Stay away from Bean."

"Bean? Are you talking about Maisy?" 

"Whatever you wanna call her, stay away. She doesn't need you making things harder for her." 

"I just want to talk to her. I haven't seen her in so long." 

"No. You stay away and don't bother her or you'll have a group of 9 people to deal with. Got it?" 

"She was like a sister to me." 

"Got it?" 

"I don't." 

"You better get it through your thick skull before you've made a mistake."
