Song:
Runaway (Aurora)
"Would I run off the world someday?"

Remus didn't bother to sit down on the grass, his eyes following Nicholas as the boy paced around, deep in thought. He couldn't really understand why Nicholas would want to talk to him all of a sudden, especially since Remus doubted the boy liked him all together.

"I'm here to threaten you." Nicholas finally started, meeting Remus' confused gaze.

"Ehm, sure?"

"Are you serious about her, or not?"

Remus' eyes widened at the question. This was a bit too awkward anyway, but the fact that it was Nicholas asking him how serious he was about Callisto made it even worse.

"Yes." He simply answered. "I really like her."

"Be sure about it before you ask her to be your girlfriend." Nicholas stated, his eyes softening a bit, while Remus' darkened. "She's my best friend, and I love her, but I'd be blind if I didn't see that she's not the easiest person. She really trusts you, so dropping her just because you decide all of a sudden that you want something simpler will not be taken very lightly from either of us. Think about it, and then make a grand move, Lupin."

"I don't need to think about it." Remus calmly answered. "I really fucking like her and that's the end of it."

"Really fucking liking her doesn't cut it." Nicholas laughed. "For most people, it is more than fine, but you must know by now that people like us don't settle. Think about what you know about Callie, Lupin; all of it."

"I'd die for her." Remus stated, Nicholas' expression faltering for the first time after hearing Remus talk about Callisto. "I know exactly who she is, so you don't need to warn me about her any further."

"I'm only warning you about her to protect her." Nicholas explained. "Wouldn't want you disappearing mysteriously now, would we?"

Remus just laughed, seeing the humor behind Nicholas' words. It wasn't a threat, at least not to him. In fact, he was willing to bet that all the talk about mysterious disappearances and abandonment were more of a prediction for Nicholas' future.

"You're leaving." Remus stated, seeing the bittersweet smile on the boy's lips. "You're getting the money, and you're gone."

"Mysteriously disappearing with Antonia Malinov by my side." Nicholas confirmed. "Maybe you should be the one threatening me."

"Will you tell her?"

"I'll leave a letter, Lupin." Nicholas smirked. "I'm a gentleman after all. But I'm also very fucking done with this bullshit. If it wasn't for Callie, I'd have left home penniless. Thanks to her, I'm leaving with a fortune on my back." He paused for a moment, averting his gaze to the castle. "I owe it to her to make sure that I'm leaving her in good hands. I guess yours are adequate."
