Things with James and I had been great.

To anyone else watching us, everything was exactly the same as it always was.

But to James and I...we were more.

We still walked around hand in hand, made jokes at each others expense and cuddled up on the couch when hanging out with the boys. To them this was normal, especially after a big fight, 'making up for lost time' Sirius had joked.

But the boys didn't see how things really had changed.

They didn't see the looks behind flirty remarks. The sweet words of a blossoming relationship mumbled to one another and the stolen kisses when people weren't around.

I mean we weren't have full on make out sessions in hidden halls and stuff, but just small, soft kisses when we were alone, sweet kisses on my cheek before classes and even cheesy back of the hand kisses when he was in a particularly flirty mood.

All this things that had change in our relationship and yet... we still weren't entirely sure what to do about it.

I loved him.

That much was for sure, but I couldn't help the nagging feeling when ever I saw him talking to Lily.

Not flirting so much but just talking, like two normal people.

And she had noticed it too, because she wasn't annoyed with him too much anymore.

That was what bugged me.

But today I'd put that nagging feeling aside.

Because today was a big day.

Today we Lily and I's 17th birthday. A big day for any witch or Wizard because that meant we were officially of age.

We could do magic outside of school

I was woke up by three loud voices, all yelling and shouting:

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY TWINS!!!!"

Lily and I both shot up in our beds, fear and shock on his face.

"What the Hell?!" I yelled, glaring at the girls that stood before me, each holding brightly wrapped gifts.

"Happy birthday grumpy gus." Mary chuckled.

"What times is it?" Lily grumbled as she sat up, I however just laid back down and hid my head under my pillow.

"7:30." I heard Alice shrug as the pillow was torn away from me and then hut me in the face again. I sat up and glared at Marlene who still held me pillow.

"Wake up Evans, we got gifts." She smirked, throwing pillow at me again, once again hitting me in the face.

"Oh come on." I grumbled, moving the pillow behind me. "It's my birthday, you can't be mean to me!"

The girls all laughed, before they placed gifts on Lily and I's beds.

Lily and I glanced at each other before grinning wildly and diving into the colourfully wrapped present.
Happily, the gifts went has such...well, my gifts.

Marlene got me a beautiful new dress that I had seen a few weeks ago in Hogsmead. Alice gave me a wand cleaning kit which I was happy with because for gosh sake my wand needed a clean.

Mary had given me new pair of black boots which would look fantastic with my new dress.

Once all the girls presents were opened and Lily and had thanked the girls with hugs and large smiles.
