I leaned in to kiss her soft appearing lips but was interrupted by...
I was interrupted by not only my alarm clock but to Ryan jumping on me, my little precious monkey, I then recalled the dream I had a little while ago but quickly pushed it down, grabbed Ryan and threw him on my back and ran through the house pretending he was superman. Ryan is my five year old son he goes to Mc Adams Prelearning Academy and he is my entire world, everything I do is for him. When Ryan was born it was because his mother fell down some stairs when she was seven almost eight months pregnant so I took her to the hospital where she was warded and was told the baby was in distress so they needed to deliver now, when Ryan was delivered she was so happy, I could never forget the look on her face when she saw him, he had some long term medical conditions but overall he was relatively a healthy baby. When Ryan was 5 months old I came home one night to find him crying in his crib and a note stuck on the outside of the crib. " I can't take it anymore he is too much for me to handle, let him know how much I love him and how much it hurt to leave but it is just too much, I thought I was cut out for this but it turns out I am not. Love Madison" It was the worst day of my life but I healed nicely and now here I am.
I eventually started breakfast which was cereal and milk today since I really wasn't feeling to make pancakes and we were out of chicken nuggets. While Ryan ate his breakfast I went to get ready for work; took a shower brushed my teeth you know the good stuff. When I came back out Ryan was already done eating and was playing with his Paw Patrol fire truck, Marshall was his favorite character but only becuase he has a fire truck.
When I finally finished dressing him, we walked out the house and off to work and school.
Deeks- "BYE buddy see you when I get you at 3 and take you to grandma's ok? I love you bud"
Ryan- "BYE dad I love you too and don't be late again ok?
Deeks- " OK buddy I promise, byee , have a good day"
And with that he ran inside his school to take on another adventure which I will most definitely be hearing about later.
At work
Deeks- " Good morning to everyone. ", I sounded peppy on purpose just to annoy the guys and Kensi"
Sam and Callen- " Morning Deeks" they said rather dryly but it was Sam and Callen so who knew
Kensi- " morning Partner"
Deeks- "finally atleast someone here is happy to see me or atleast sounds happy to see me"
Callen- "that's because she is your partner and you are in love with eachother" Callen said under his breath but I still heard him and I think Kens did too since she hit him with a "say-that-again-and-you-are-dead look"
But I just proceeded to make my coffee and catch up on my paperwork waiting for someone to be a threat to national security.
That day was rather simple, we just had paperwork to do nothing too drastic.
At around one something which more or less now became our regular lunch time, Kensi and I went out to grab lunch for everyone, we bought shawarmas and tacos for everyone, I paid of course because Kensi 'forgot' her purse in the bullpen but I didn't mind.
Kensi- "So, what are you doing tonight?"
Deeks- "Umm idk but I do know I am busy this weekend" I said not wanting her to know I had a son, she might look at me differently and I really can't have that, we just work so well as is.
Kensi- "So just to be clear you are busy but you don't know what you will be doing that makes you busy?"
Deeks- "Ummm yeah that sounds about right" just then I checked my phone clock and it was time for me to go pick up Ryan and drop him at my mom's place.
Deeks- " Uh Kens you can take this back to the office by yourself right? I have something to go do right now else I will be late and I cannot afford to be late for this again."
Kensi- " Uhh sure I guess, what is it? What's going on?"
Deeks- "Nothing just, I gotta go, ok, bye, love you" I said while I kissed her on her forehead and ran off to pick up Ryan.
Kensi's pov
Did he just- hmmm
Deeks just told me that he loved me, kissed me on my forehead and ran off to go 'attend to something' I was paralyzed with the movement of butterflies in my stomach to even move and take the shawarmas and tacos to the office, until I was bumped into and brought back to reality.
The entire walk back to the office I couldn't stop thinking about Deeks, I mean he was so goofy and don't even get me started on when he used to talk detective, that was my weakness right then and there. Me saying I am most attracted to him talking detective it would be wierd for some people but I think he gets it.
Back at the office
Sam- " Where's Deeks, didn't both of you go for the lunch together?"
Callen- " She probably got tired of him explaining to her how much he would love to rub sunscreen on her because it was hot outside"
Kensi- " Actually he said he had to go do something and that he will be back soon, don't know where or what he went to do so don't ask me"
With that I handed them their lunches and we ate, I could tell they wanted to ask me more questions because of the tension in the room and the looks they both kept shooting me while we were eating but being partners with Deeks I learnt to ignore like when he came back and was tell us all about his vacation, so I just channeled that to what was currently taking place.
Deeks pov
When I was almost at Ryan's school it just hit me, I kissed Kensi before I ran off, she must me freaking out. I will probably have to explain myself later but now I gotta get my little ninja monkey Ryan from school.
Just as I pulled up in the parking lot and was about to exit my van I saw a blue eyed, blonde haired boy sprinting towards my vehicle and immediately my heart felt warm and comforted.
Ryan- "DADDYYY!!! yay you're finally on time today"
Deeks- "Hey buddy, and yes I am on time today, did I not promise you that this morning, that I will be here early" I joked as I lifted him up and carried him to the red van which I owned.
Deeks- " So how was your day bud, tell me all about it, but first you gotta buckle up while I take you to grandma's ok?"
Ryan- "yes daddy"
With that he buckled up and we headed over to my mom's house, as I thought he rang my ears out telling me about his day, but honestly I wouldn't trade it for the world he was my heart in human form.
Back at work
Kensi's pov
Just when I was about to go talk to Nell upstairs to check to see if we had anything new I saw Deeks walk in.
Kensi- "So nice of you to join us once again Deeks" I teased.
Deeks- " Yeah I sorry about that, I had to go attend to something, but I am back now, was actually thinking about hitting the gym any takers?"
He sounded like he wanted the subject changed as soon as possible so I didn't push it too much.
Kensi- " yeah I'll be your gym buddy for the day just lemme go check something in ops and I will meet you there."
Deeks- " great"
Kensi- "great"
Sam and Callen looked as if they had something to say but just smirked and continued with what they were doing before.
