After about a month of investigation on Kora and Lucas' murders, I got a call from an unknown number. Me, who gets these alot, mostly from school buddies, picked up the phone,

"Hello.. This is (L/N) (Y/N). How may I help you?" I recognized the voice on the other line almost immediately.

"Hello again... I understand that the last time we spoke it wasn't under the best terms, but I'd like you to know we've found the killer of the people you identified as your friend and lover, Kora and Lucas, if I'm correct.." I heard the voice of Officer Māzo speaking.

"R-really..? You found them?!" I said, really happy the sick bastard was caught.

"Yes.. we'd like you in court to help prove their guiltiness, as a way of making sure it isn't frame and other legal reasons," he said.

"Other legal reasons? I understand the testimony, but do you think I framed them or something..? What other legal reasons?" I questioned.

"Well, if they were framed by someone, your testimony will provide proof in their facial expression and what they say after if they truly are the killer or if we have a dead end," Māzo explained.

Two weeks later at the courthouse, I finally got to see who supposedly murdered Lukas and Kora. And to my surprise... Or rather, not to my surprise... it was Kilu Kanaki.

"So, Kanaki, ya like finally get caught and put on trial?" I said.

"Oh yeah? Bet your pathetic ass couldn't take it" they said while chuckling a bit.

"Couldn't take it? Oh? So your laughing at the fact that in almost 2 months I consecutively got maybe 20 hours of sleep and little to no food bc I was having anxiety attacks left, right, and center? I'm pathetic because my only reasons for living were killed in cold blood by you?" I turned to the judge,

"you hearing this shit?!" Everyone in the courtroom was just baffled.

"Y-yes... anyways-"

One boring trial later-

"Kanaki Kilu, I hearby sentence you to life imprisonment with no possible parol on account of 2 second degree murders. (AN: no clue if it is second degree but oh well. The bastard's getting arrested) Jury dismissed." The judge said, hiting his mallet on his podium... thing??? I was brought to tears of joy as they were arrested and have no way of getting out on their own. (Kanaki is nonbinary)

"Finally" I whispered to myself.
