Dallas Little Sister

Chapter Eight

As they were sitting around lighting up cigarette after cigarette ponyboy complained about his hair and I just looked at him "your hair looks fine to me" I said "you, you really think so?" He said with a smile "yeah it looks fine" I said looking down at my hands, time after time I saw someone looking through the window I got up quickly and the person that was looking inside was Dallas he came crawling through the window "you scared me Dallas I thought someone found us" I said "no I came here to pick you guys up and take you guys somewhere to eat" Dallas said we all nodded and went with Dallas I hopped into the back seat with ponyboy

It took about 10 to 15 minutes to get into town we went to Dairy Queen to get food I order pop and a burger to eat it was way better than eating baloney and water for couple days I heard Dallas talking about that girl name cherry he was wondering is she like him I just laugh a little but good thing he didn't hear me, we where done eating our food and Dallas was going to bring us back to the church and there was smoke coming from the church and ponyboy jumped out of the car and ran towards the church

There was a guy and a women that said there where children in there how the hell where there children in there in the first place so ponyboy and Johnny went in there to save the children then I follow moments later, I crawled in the burning church I could see all the kids cluttered in the corner I went towards the kids and bring two with me i lifted the girl up for she can clime out and the boy next I had a hard time breathing and so I heard Dallas and Johnny screaming I got out and went onto the ground trying to catch my breath

I cough and cough from all the smoke I inhaled i had blurred vision and I could see Dallas pulling out Johnny who was burnt badly I lost my vision and woke up inside an ambulance there was a lady who said "it'll be alright we're bringing you to hospital" I looked around "where Dallas...where my brother" I said as my voice was rough and sore "he's in the other ambulance" the women said i laid there for about 5 minutes until we got to the hospital I got lead out inside and went into the waiting room and I saw ponyboy sitting there I went walking towards him and he saw he got up and I went to go hugged him "are you ok...did you see Johnny and Dallas" I said worried looking back at his face

"Yeah I seen them, they past by me five minutes ago" he looking at me "how were they" I said looking down braking the hug "Dallas looked alright...but Johnny he looked pretty bad" ponyboy looking at the ground we both sat down waiting for a bit then moments later I saw ponyboy got up and I wonder why he got up, he went running towards his brother sodapop they looked happy when they saw each other, then he went running into Darrel arms. They where having a brothers moment which was sweet.

I asked the nurse to see if i can see Dallas and surprisingly she did let me see him I walk into the room where he was laying down on the bed "he Dallas how are you" I said calmly, he looked at me with a small smile "I'm doing okay" he said calmly towards me "that's good" I said sitting next to him on a soft chair, "how Johnny" "I don't know...I haven't seen him, only ponyboy he looked bad according to pony" I said looking at the ground "promise me Dallas if anything happens I mean anything promise that you won't leave me alone anymore" I said holding his hands "I promise you I won't leave you anymore...your my little sister and we only have each other" he said grabbing my hand

"I still can't get over what I said to you man, why would I say that" he said in a little mad tone looking at the ceiling "hey dal, I know you didn't mean to say that to me"  I said rubbing his arm
"I know you forget me for saying that, but I don't forget myself" he Saul closing his eyes
