|Lucas|
The white fades from my eyes as my feet hit grass and I stop. I feel Ryan's grip still on my wrist and blink several times before I look at him. He seemed as dazed as I was from that. What was that even??
I look around and take note of the tall pines surrounding us. It seemed that we were for sure in a different land. The air here felt different and the pines had a different look to them. But something about this place felt magical. Ethereal even. Ryan lets go of my wrist and I let it rest at my side, taking in the mystical look of this place.
"Tewtiy... Where are we?"
Ryan takes a look around, then I see him look down at the foreign object in his hand. It was a star with a blue-ish tinge to it that was still glowing softly.
"I... I have no clue Lucas... But- "Ryan shakes his head, turning to his thoughts. I keep quiet to let him sort through his thoughts then turn to look back at the portal frame behind me. A feeling of dread settles in my stomach as a empty obsidian frame greets me and I bite my lip. We'd need to find a way to light the portal before we'd be able to return home. I shake the feeling off and meet Ryan's dark brown eyes, seeing a look of wonder and seriousness in them.
"I- We should look around. Following logic, Sabre should be somewhere around here. I just hope that musty old book was right..." I nod, curious about what book he was on about, and let out a breath as Ryan starts to walk forward, his eyes looking around. I take a step forward, then realize my heart was still beating fast and try to take a few deep breaths to calm myself down.
I hadn't had this much activity since helping Sabre recover after he had his eye injured... But now that I knew he was alive and I would be seeing him again soon... A certain happiness filled me. Sabre had always been an easy going and fun guy and I missed his joking around.
It always made me forget about my family background.
I walk over to Tewtiy, then look up at the sky through the canopy above us. It held deep blues and oranges, so it seemed like it was either close to sundown, or sunrise. Quickly closing my eyes, I take a deep breath in and try to feel where a cool breeze was. I never liked to use my birthright, but it helped me find my way. Being able to call upon storms meant I could sense the air currents and tell which way was the warmer and indicated south.
A warm sensation pricks the bridge of my nose and I look in front of us. There was a sea current breeze a couple hours ahead mixed with a certain gentle feel to the breeze. If I were to choose a direction, it'd be that.
"There's a sea about two and a half hours in this direction. Our best bet would to be to find some sort of sea town before it gets dark or later in the morning," I say, then look to my friend. Meeting my eyes with a nod, Tewtiy starts to walk in the direction I had mentioned and I follow quickly at his side.
We walk on in silence, only pausing once for a food and water break. The day was getting warmer as we walked, so it was leaving both of us thirsty a bit faster than usual. This left me only partially concerned about rations. However, I couldn't help but be entranced by the scenery around me. The rolling landscapes was expansive and I felt at ease with this land.
"Hey Lucas, you haven't said a word this entire walk," Ryan says from by a tree as he climbs up it, trying to get a view of the area around us. We had paused for a moment to get our bearings, so Ryan was going to climb up into the trees to look around. I watch as he scales up then call back up to him.
"Just been enjoying the scenery as we've been walking. It's really peaceful out here and there's nothing that's attacked us so I've just been enjoying the feeling." Ryan glances back down at me and nods, chuckling. He takes his hood down, then climbs up further.
