Once all three of us were back at the Sanctuary, Lucas said he wanted to go do something. Tewtiy and I just said ok, then went our own ways. After I had went back to my room, the tiredness started to really set in. I guess being social for so long was taking its toll right now.
As soon as I had gotten into my room, my first instinct was to flop on the bed and lay down for a moment. I had done so and closed my eyes for a moment to enjoy the soft bed. But after a while, I decide to get back up and change out of my clothes. It was better to do so, before I didn't have the motivation to do it.
After carefully taking off my jacket, scarf, blindfold, and shirt, I glance at myself in the upright mirror in the closet. I honestly looked so tired and worn. I guess with everything that has happened to me, it was within reason. I had literally gone to heck and back. Yet the more I looked at myself, the more I started to notice all of the scars across my body. And... It almost started to look like- those odd... Runes... Oh no-
I seize as my gaze slowly moves to behind me, where a dark blue cloaked figure stood, his face turned to a tormentative grin as he stared right back at me from over my right shoulder. Out of nowhere he punches forward, breaking the mirror and his hand sticking out of the shards.
Not able to tear my eyes away, I back up until I trip and land on the ground. Slowly, as if he was separating a curtain, The First Curse stepped through the ruined mirror. His purple eyes gleamed with malice and hatred as he stood in front of the closet at his full height, towering over me. I struggle to breathe as I back up into a cupboard on the opposite side of the room, my skin feeling like all of it was on fire.
"What, 'Great Hero?' Terrified of your past?" His voice rang in my head, blocking out any thought I could muster of telling myself to run, to flee. He steps forward, his voice echoing around. "Perhaps you would like a reminder on why you are a Chicken."
I force my eyes away from his grin finally and squeeze them shut, wanting desperately for this to not be real. There was no way... He-
--(Gore/extreme trauma starts here)--
The sudden, repressed memory of Light came into my mind.
A burned body in front of me, his eyes closed as if in his final moments, there wasn't any pain. But the burns... First Curse grinning as he had done it- As if- As if it was all a game to him.
I snap my gaze back up to him, only to see him crouching in front of me. The room was dark around us, with the only light coming from his malicious eyes. "Finally figuring it out, huh. You're always going to be prey to another villain, Sabre. You can't escape that fate." I press myself up against the cupboard, trying to force myself to breathe.
"N-No. I- I- R-Refuse to be! I got over that feeling- years ago! I won't be prey to anyone else!"
"Yet aren't you tired of constantly relying on others for their strength? To solve your problems?"
His hand shoots out and slams against the wooden door above my left shoulder, his eyes boring into mine and keeping me there. His face gets closer to mine, the sinister grin changing... his face changing.
