Everybody at school recognized me then because of the bet with Nate, they waved at me on the hallways or sat next to me at class. It was pretty cool during a few days until Megan the witch, as Anna likes to call her, felt that she had to do something about it.

That Friday I was having lunch with my friends as usual. Marlene asked me to walk her to the bathroom because she wasn't feeling well. I was walking towards her when suddenly I felt that something hot and pasty smashed to my shoulder and arm.

I held my breath when I realized that it had been someone's lunch. I was so angry that I wanted to scream at the top of my lungs. I turned my head so I could see the person whose lunch was on my arm.

It's was Megan's lunch, and she was beaming at the sight of my face. I breathed, in and out. I turned my head to look at my friends and they were as astonished as I was. Harry was flushed with anger but he didn't say anything, it was Nate the one who spoke.

"Why did you do that, Megan?"

"What did I do, hon?" she said smiling.

"You did that on purpose!" he shouted.

"No, I didn't" she was still smiling when she approached him and put her hand on his shoulder.

He push it away and said to me: "Let's go, Via. I'll help you clean it".

As soon as I had arrived home I took a shower. Although Nate had been really helpful cleaning me I felt sticky the whole day.

I wanted to relax so I went downstairs to watch the TV. Chloe was already there watching cartoons and she was sobbing uncontrollably. I felt bad instantly although I didn't know what was she crying about.

I sat beside her and asked. "Are you okay, Chloe? Why are you crying?"

"S-some girls at school make fun of me" she said between sobs.

"Why would they do that?"

"They call me the big-red-mess because they don't like my hair".

"Oh, sweetie" I already sounded like my grandmother. "I think your hair is lovely. Have you looked at mine? It's straight and dull" she smiled at that. "They are just jealous" I assured her.

"Harry told me the same, but I know that they are going to make fun of me again on Monday".

"He did, didn't he?" I asked her trying to buy time so I could think about something to said that would make her feel better. "I know what we could do. I could brush your hair every morning after you go to school or I could teach Nate how to do it. What do you think?"

Chloe smiled and hugged me, she was so sweet.
