Chapter 36: Scream

Nate had just left the canteen after Adam. We all remained sit on our table with very different expressions on our faces. Anna's face was worried, Marlene's angry, Ashton's surprised and Harry indifferent. I wondered which expression I had on my face.

I was worried about him because I wanted their relationship to work, but I was also scared and curious about what was happening behind those doors.

The curiosity snapped out of my face as I began hearing the screams.

"This is not going to work, Nate. You should just forget about me" I heard Adam say.

"It's not what it looks like, I swear" Nate replied in a pleading tone.

"I know what I saw, okay? Don't you dare to deny it" a few minutes passed when Adam spoke again. Nate must have talked low because I hadn't heard him. "I still don't understand why would she do it?"

"Because anybody knows and-" I didn't hear anything after that because Anna had gone outside to tell them that everybody was hearing what were they saying.

"That was really awkward" said Harry.

"So... are they...?" began to say Ashton. I lowered my head because I didn't want to give anything away with my eyes.

"I don't understand what had just happened" said Marlene and it made me furious.

"You don't? You don't understand the fact that what you had done ruined everything that could have happened between them?!" I shouted at her. "Can't you see that?"

"No, I don't. Nate didn't seem to mind about what I did on Saturday night with him and it's not going to change just because you say it" she replied lifting her chin.

"Don't you realize that it is not just because I say it? I-"

She cut me. "Nate didn't say anything to me, did he?"

"No, he didn't, but it's just-"

She cut me again. "Then shut up and mind your own business" she left.

Rage flared throw my veins. "I can't believe it".

"If I am not wrong and that's what it looks like... She's not welcome here anymore, so let her think that she has got all she wants" said Ashton.
