During a break I had told everything that had happened to Anna. She couldn't believe how Nate could have done what he did. We both agreed that he was blinded by the popularity and erroneous assumptions.

At lunch we were sitting at our usual table chatting playfully. Ashton was complaining about the lost bet.

"Honey, if you were better at betting, you wouldn't have lost" said Anna.

"I'm not that bad. It's just that I'm not lucky" he stated.

"Sure bud. Say that the next time you lose" Nate said laughing.

I stopped laughing as I saw Marlene approaching our table. I knew I had no right to tell her not to sit here because she was part of our group of friends, but I was still angry at her about what I had seen on Saturday.

"Hello, guys" she said putting her hands on Nate's shoulders. He tensed when he felt her hands and looked at me. He had a panicked look on his face but it was also shocked. I was shocked too but didn't know what to do so I shrugged.

"Hi Marlene" said Anna. "Come to sit with me, I've got lots of things to tell you" I have to admit that was an intelligent thing to say.

"I've got lots of important things to tell Nate too" she said, sliding her hands down Nate's chest.

"Oh, c'mon. It's really important" whined Anna. Marlene lowered her head and put her mouth near Nate's ear. She whispered something to him and by the look on his face it had to be something really bad.

The moment Marlene lips left Nate's ear a tray fell to the floor. I turned my head towards the noise and saw that it had been Adam's tray that had fallen. He looked down, after a few seconds he lifted his head up and after looking at Nate he left the canteen.

Adam had seen the whole scene that Marlene had caused. This was getting from bad to worse with him and Nate.

Nate looked with a defeated gaze at Anna and I looked at her too. She was gesturing him to go after Adam and he did it.
