Chapter 14: Payback

There were almost two hours left to go to the cinema and I was extremely nervous. I didn't know what to expect. I wanted to be more than friends with Nate but he didn't. After what had happened at the party would he still see me as a friend?

I knew that Harry would be mad at me, as always, but I didn't know why. Had I offended him in some way? I couldn't stop thinking about it.

To clear my mind I started to play the piano. My mother had taught me when I was little and I remembered some simple songs, the way she played the piano was wonderful.

Two hours later I was waiting in front of the cinema, I hadn't come with the twins because it would have been awkward.

Marlene arrived first. "I'm really looking forward to see the film. I've watched the trailer like... a thousand times" she told me.

"Seriously?" I asked her and we started talking about the film. Then Ashton arrived with Harry and after a while Anna and Nate. He smiled at me when he arrived but I couldn't smile back.

We bought the tickets and popcorn and entered the room. There were 15 minutes left until the film was going to start. I sat between Harry and Nate. They were talking about the Game/Bet night when Megan and two of her friends entered the room.

She smiled at Nate and said: "Why don't you come to sit with me at the back?"

He patted my hand and answered: "I have better company here, thanks though".

She forced a smile and started walking to the row behind ours. When she was behind my seat she extended her hand to my popcorn and grabbed a few.

"I thought that I could eat some of yours since you don't want to put more grease into your already fat body".

"Don't you think that that advise is more suitable for you, Megan?" I said.

"Bitch" she muttered after I had turned around.

"That's what I thought" I said loud enough for her to hear. I shook my head and stared at my popcorn. There was a piece of gum stuck on them! That had crossed the red line.

I got up and turned around. "You know what, Megan" she smiled. "You can shove it up your ass!" I shouted and threw my popcorn at her.

"Yes!" shouted Harry beside me. I smiled at him and he held up his hand. I gave him five and sat down. Everybody laughed.

"That was awesome" Harry whispered once the film had started.

I was proud of myself.

During the film one of the twins laced his fingers with mine. At first I thought that it had been Nate, but I turned around and couldn't be so sure.
