Chapter 26: April 2015

April 1st, 2015

I'm going to kill whoever glued my lawnchairs to my roof. It couldn't have been Dominica because she's the worst at lying. It was either Fernando or Ricardo and I'm guessing it's both of them because their men and men do stupid things like this. I understand it's April Fools, but this is the meanest thing that's ever been done to me! I just want this day to peaceful. Is that too much to ask? Eleanor.

April 3rd, 2015

I never found out who glued my lawnchairs to my roof, but the rest of the day was peaceful. Seb sent me a letter from prison, but I was too uncomfortable to write back. Dominica totally understood even though she replied to the one he sent her. I don't know if Fernando got one, but I'll find out soon enough. It's weird talking about someone you once had feelings for. It's Louis all over again. Eleanor.

April 5th, 2015

I went into town today to get groceries, and the market was being held up by the guerilla soldiers that guard the forest. They took everyone's money accept mine because they knew I was American and thought I'd end up telling some sort of government agency what happened which isn't true, but still. They dragged this poor man outside and shot him in the back of the head and then fled. The man's wife was in hysterics as officers shuffled people out and I caught a whiff of the blood and I thought I was going to puke. I have no idea why all this violence is happening now, but there is no way I'm getting in the way. Eleanor.

April 7th, 2015

Dominica brought her siblings over today and they're the cutest. Their names are Jorge and Allina. Jorge is twelve and Allina is thirteen. Apparently they have to stay with their sister for about two weeks since the guerilla's are attacking the village Dominica is from. Dominica pleaded with her mom to stay with her as well, but she refused. I've never seen her so distraught before. I hope the guerilla's dont do anything to Dominica's mom. I don't think she'd be able to take it. Eleanor.

April 9th, 2015

Dominica's mom, Selena, was finally able to sneak away from the village last night and made her way over to El Lupe. She's staying with me since there isn't enough room for another person at Dominica's house, but I don't mind. Selena is the sweetest and kindest woman ever. Hopefully the guerilla violence will stop soon. I'm praying for everyone affected. Eleanor.

April 11th, 2015

Allina and I bonded today over our love for One Direction. She said she recognized me the minute she met me, but she didn't want to flip out in front of her sister. She asked me if I still talk to Louis, and sadly I said no. My ankle has been doing a lot better since I broke it, but at least the boot the doctor put on is helping me get around. I just realized Dominica hasn't uttered a word about her engagement since her family arrived. Weird. Anywho, I have a lot of cleaning to do. Eleanor.

April 13th, 2015

The guerilla's attacked the market again today but thankfully no one got hurt. Selena is afraid the guerilla's will find the beach homes and attack, but I have a feeling that won't happen. I've noticed a pattern with the guerilla's. They only attack highly populated places like the town square and surrounding villages. There's only twelve people who live on the beach and I doubt that'd be worth it to the guerilla's. Let's just hope nothing happens overnight. Love, Eleanor.

OKAY WELL I'M WRITING THIS REALLY QUICK BECAUSE A BUNCH OF POLICE OFFICERS JUST SHOWED UP TO EVACUATE US BECAUSE APPARENTLY THE GUERILLA'S ARE GOING TO BOMB THE BEACH. I GRABBED ALL MY VALUABLES AND NOW I'M WAITING FOR ALLINA AND JORGE SO WE CAN JOIN DOMINICA AND SELENA. I'LL KEEP YOU POSTED. ELEANOR.
