Summary: when Naruto failed to bring back Sasuke after the Sasuke retrieval mission, everyone but Tsunade, Jiraiya, and the rest of the Konoha twelve and their sensei turned on him, the council called for his execution, and, even though Trunade tried to overturn the ruling, they ignored her and had him locked up to get executed, or atleast they tried. Jiraiya, knowing the council's plan, told Naruto about it ahead of time and told him to run away. Naruto listened to him, and while he was escaping the village he didn't notice Hinata following him until he got back to the valley of the end. When he finally noticed Hinata following him he prepared to fight her off, but she said that she was joining him. After a few minutes of talking they hear people coming, so they flee, crossing a line through their headbands with a kunai and dropping them on the ground beforehand. They run in a random direction, eventually they get to the ocean, but they keep running, avoiding whirlpools and storms they find themselves at Uzushiogakure. They decide to hide there and fix up some of the ruined buildings for themselves. They spend the next 3 years there, training on their own and under the tutelage of the Kyuubi for a single purpose, the destruction of the leaf, and the slaughter of all but a very small group of people. During those 3 years Naruto absorbs a little of the Kyuubi's chakra, just enough to give him permanent claws and fangs, and red slitted eyes. The 2 of them study and learn any techniques that they find in the ruins.
