As I turned around I accidentally bumped into someone dropping my books. “I am so sorry.” He immediately started apologising whist bending down to help me with my books. “Don’t be, it was my fault.” I replied. We stood up, and that’s when I saw him. His brown sparkly eyes, his light brown perfectly straight hair and his warm smile. I think I just found my prince charming. “Hi, I’m Stefan Salvator, new here obviously.” He greeted holding out his hand for me to shake. I stumbled a bit before replying. “Shelby Dallas, not so new here, just unfamiliar with my scenario.” “Well I better get to class. It was nice meeting you Shelby.” He half shouted while running to class. “Nice meeting you too.” I barely whispered. I quickly turned joining Skye in class, having everyone stare at me. Wow, I feel like the new girl all over again. “Well if it isn’t Shelby Pinnington.” Anika spoke. She was the popular mean girl of the school. She hates me, literally hates me. It’s one of those best friends since primary school until she became popular in year eight, and now… well you know I’m her punching bag. Everyone knows why she’s popular. She is gorgeous and yes she is fake. Bleach blonde hair, makeup covered face, clothes too short for her and the obvious reason, makes out with any guy, and every guy.
“Anika, hey.” I replied trying to make my way to my seat. “I’m surprised you’re even here.” She started. Great like my mood is the best now. “Please don’t.” I begged chocking back my tears. I tried not to make eye contact so I looked around the classroom then out the window, and right in my vision was Stefan. Great. “Don’t what? Mention your sister and brother?” She started once again. “Stop.” I whispered. This whole holding back the tears think is getting harder not to mention Stefan was standing there. “Or your DAD!” She finished practically shouting. That’s when my tears started flowing down my cheeks. “GO AWAY ANIKA!” I shouted with a croaky voice. “Go away Anika.” She mocked. “That’s enough. You are a rude handful and I wish I never met you!” I shouted. The whole class gasped as I ran outside. I heard Skye shouting at Anika while calling my name. But I kept running totally oblivious to my surroundings. “We have to stop meeting like this.” Stefan tried to joke. I ran into him, again. I looked into his eyes and saw the worry that was taking over. I was going to break, once again, so I quickly ran away.
He tried following me but I knew the school to well. I hid and waited and waited. Until finally, Skye came and cradled me as I became emotionless. “Everything’s going to be okay.” Skye kept repeating, trying to settle me. It wasn’t working. I tried calming down. I thought that after crying for five months there won’t be any tears to cry with. I guess I was wrong. After about half an hour of crying, my tears finally stopped. Skye and I got up and went to lunch.“Is the cry baby finished?” Anika rudely questioned. “What? Now that you are popular you have to be rude?” I replied. “Well when little babies go off crying, yeah I do.” She stated smugly. Ugh! She seriously annoys me. “Listen here you vindictive little child, I don’t know what happened between us. You loved my family. They were your family too! My father treated you as his own, my sister and brother, well they were your sister and brother too! And now, well now you seem so happy they died that you have to mock me about it. I am so glad that they aren’t here to see what you have become!” I shouted once more. Everyone just started eye balling us, well me. “Alright, alright, that’s enough!” Principal Jenkins yelled. “You and you! My office, NOW!” She shouted once again, while motioning between Anika and me. Great, just what I needed. As I was walking out, I noticed Stefan standing there, with what looks like horror filling his eyes. Is he scared of me? I really hope not.
