It was now Sunday, which meant my family and friends visit. I was so anxious about today, I couldn’t stop shaking. I picked out my black skater dress with a white collar and black doc martins. My hair was quite curly so I left it and put on a flower crown. “Ready?” Kaylie asked. “Ready.” I smiled. We walked out of room, locking the door behind us.

“SHELBY!” I heard the all too familiar voice of my best friend run towards me. “SKYE!” I shouted backed running towards her. We collapsed in each other’s arms. I missed her so much. I took a step back and looked at her. “Wow, you haven’t grown much.” She just laughed at my comment. She wore the cutest purple floral crop top and a black high waisted skirt, her all too familiar black converse and a flower crown. “Girl, why you dressing up? Are there hot guys here?” She looked around the room. I just laughed. I’ll introduce her to Luke after I say hi to everyone else.

“Kyle.” I hugged him so tight. Next was Logan, then Mum. She started crying when she saw me. “Shelby, it’s so good to see you.” She hugged me. “I missed you too Mum.” “I missed you all.” I finished. “But Skye, before I catch up with you more, there’s someone who misses you too.” I smirked looking around the room. “Oh Luke.” I shouted. Skye’s eyes widened. “Luke Benson?” She whispered. I nodded. “Skye Jacobs?” He pretended as if he wasn’t sure. I just laughed. They hugged and started talking, while I was catching up with my parents. “Another two months and you’re done right?” Kyle asked. “So far, yeah.” I smiled so wide. “Good, because we all miss you, so much.” I hugged Kyle again. I missed this. “How is everyone? Juliet and Carter? Adam?” I questioned. “They wanted to come, but you were only allowed four visitors, so Adam said he’ll look after them so these three can come.” Mum told me. “Tell him I’m thankful.” After an hour or so of catching up with everyone, Skye finally leaving Luke, and showing them around, they had to leave in order to get back home. I said my good byes before hugging everyone, Skye cried; we hugged at least one hundred times. “Bye.” I waved as they left.

“Shelby.” I heard someone say my name. I turned around to see Joe coming over to me with a gorgeous girl. His sister I believe, after seeing the pictures. She hair brown hair with blench blonde ends and blue eyes like Joe’s. “Shelby, this is my sister Zoe. Zoe, this is Shelby.” He smiled. “You are so gorgeous.” She told me. “Joe, you picked a good one.” My eyes widened. “Oh no, we aren’t together.” I told her. We’re barely even friends. I thought to myself. “Oh sorry.” She apologised. “Yeah Zo, we are just good friends, and I wanted you to meet her. She’s helping me become better.” He smiled somewhat proud of what he is doing. It’s just making me feel worse about myself, and what I said to him. I spoke with Zoe and Joe for a bit more, they seemed really close, like Rose and I were before everything. “So do you have any siblings?” Zoe asked. I looked towards the ground. “I had two sisters and two brothers, plus a step-brother.” I slowly spoke. “What do you mean you had?” She question confused. “My father, older sister and brother died in a car crash.” I told her, still looking at the ground. “I am so sorry, I shouldn’t have asked.” She hugged me so tight. “No, it’s okay, you didn’t know.” I re-ensured her. I looked at Joe, he gave me a sympathetic look. “Neither did I.” He mouthed. I just shrugged my shoulders.

“Shelby?” I felt someone tap my shoulder. I turned around. No, no, why is he here? “Stefan.” I replied. I looked towards the ground once more. “Why are you here?” I asked. “I came to see you, I had to see you. It’s been months.” He said. “I know.” I whispered. “Joe, how about you show me around?” Zoe said, trying to drag him away. “You already know this place, why do I need to show you around?” He question, either oblivious to what she was trying to do, or trying to listen to see who Stefan was. “Let’s go.” She dragged him away. I gave her a thank you smile before turning back around. “We broke up.” I said sternly.

Stefan: “I know.”
Me: “You told me not to go to you when I needed a shoulder to cry on.”
Stefan: “And now look where you are.”
Me: “You should leave.”
Stefan: “Not until we are back together. We belong together, you know that. Everyone knows that. And not being with you for the past 5 months has been killing me. I need you in my life, to know you love me, to know you need me, to know I feel accepted by you in particular. I love you, so much, more than anyone else I’ve met. I love you Shelby.”
Me: “I don’t want you to be here Stefan. I’m sorry, I need to concentrate on myself. I’m sorry. Please leave.”
Stefan: “Fuck it. Fuck you. I came here, hoping to pour my heart out and get you back. And all you do, all you do is tell me to leave. Whatever, go fuck blondie over there. He wants you so bad, more than I ever would. You Shelby, you don’t need to concentrate on yourself, you already do that enough. Fuck you. We are done. We, we will never be anything more than imagination, all because you can’t accept how you feel for me. Well fuck you then.”
Me: “Stefan I-“
Stefan: “Fuck you.”

And with that he walked away leaving me standing there thinking about what just happened, trying not to break down. I felt someone’s arms wrap around me. I turn around to see Joe. “It’s going to be okay.” He soothed. “You saw?” I felt a tear roll down my cheek. “Just the end.” He told me. My tears kept coming. I buried my head into his cheat. “I lost him. Because I don’t know how to tell him how I truly feel.” I barely whispered. “Maybe because you don’t feel anything anymore.” He replied. Making me think. That might be the reason as to why I can’t tell him I love him, or I like him. Maybe I don’t anymore. “Joseph.” I heard Zoe shout. “Joseph, you’re needed.” I giggled. “Oh shut up you.” He pulled away from me and walked over to Zoe. I wiped my tears before turning back around. She looks like she was giving him a lecture. It amused me. He hugged her before pushing her away. It was so cute. She came over to me before hugging me. “It was nice meeting you Shelby.” “You too.” I smiled. “Look out for my brother, he might not show it, but he really does like you.” She whispered. For some reason that gave my butterflies. I looked towards the ground to hide myself blushing. I waved goodbye, then Joe decided to walk me back to my room.
