Chapter 8

My sight must be acting up because I saw my mother laughing and smiling. Real smiles, not fake. “Shelby Shelby Shelby.” Juliet repeated. “Yeah?” I asked. Still confused of what’s in front of me. “Stefan is awesome! He got mummy out of bed and now, and now we are watching NEMO!” She practically shouted. “Yeah, I noticed.” I stared at my mother. My actual mother with a smile plastered on her face. “Hey baby.” Her voice. I missed her voice. I almost cried just hearing. Unexpectedly I ran over to her and hugged her for dear life. I missed her hugs, I missed everything about her. “Hi mummy.” I choked back the tears. After a while I let go and sat next to Stefan on the couch. He put his arm around me as we watched Carter and Juliet argue over who sits next to Stefan. I looked at my mum who was laughing so hard I swear she was about to cry. I just smiled, this was great.

It was almost 9 o’clock. Stefan’s mum came to pick him up. Her and my mum were talking about us and our families and then that’s when my heart sank. “Where’s your husband tonight?” His mum questioned. My mum went quiet. “Mum.” I said. She just looked me. “He um… he passed away a couple months ago.” She replied, but no tears. I was very proud of her. “I am so sorry.” Stefan’s mum apologised straight away. “It’s okay.” My mum said, and for the first time in forever, I swear she meant it. Stefan’s mum hugged mine before letting go. She told Stefan she will meet him outside before walking out. “Well, I guess this is my goodbye.” He smiled at me. “Bye.” I smiled back. “Are they going to kiss?” Juliet whispered loud enough for everyone to hear. “Will that be okay Juliet?” Stefan asked. Wait, what? Juliet smiled and nodded her head like crazy. “Will that be okay?” Stefan asked me this time. I answered by moving in. Our lips touched for what felt like forever before we were interrupted by a loud horn. His mother shouted “It’s time to go!” We both laughed before he left. “Ohhh!” Juliet, Carter and mum all said. “Really, you guys are so immature.” I giggled.

Mum finally put Juliet and Carter to bed before coming downstairs. “I think we should talk.” I said to mum. She nodded. “So, what happened today?” I asked. “Well Stefan came over telling us how you got a detention for supposedly hitting someone and that he came to help with the little ones. He came into my room and asked if I wanted to play bowling with them on the Wii. I said no at first. He then told me a story. He told me how my daughter was afraid, and upset about everything. He told me that the only person who she wanted to help her get through this was sitting at home in bed or crawled up on a couch. Which made me upset. He also told me that she would do anything to see her mother smile or laugh or anything. So after a bit of persuading I accepted his offer and played Wii. For the first time in ages I smiled. After smiling I finally laughed. I missed the feeling, more so I missed my family. All because of your friend or your boyfriend, or whatever he is.” She informed. I just smiled before hugging her. We watched more TV before I went to bed.

A/N just so you all know, I have tried basing the characters off actresses/actors that looked alike, however, I based the characters off myself and my friends. Also, I have already writen a majority of this story, so I am just copying and pasting, which is why I am uploading so many chapters. It is not complete, so once I paste all the chapters I have done, there still will be more.
