It took a lot of challenges to be in the moment I was in. Laying on a blanket in the middle of the night, in my favorite place next to the love of my life, Pansy Parkinson. I leaned into Pansy's chest as her fingers combed their way through my hair. We were in our spot, a place that in some ways symbolizes our relationship, the astronomy tower.

"You know," I start, eyes meeting hers, "the stars often get tired of how much I talk about you." Which elicited a soft giggle and made her eyes sparkle like the stars right above us.

"There's no way you've talked to the stars about me," she said, trying to hide her awe.

"Oh I definitely did, I used to come up here all the time just to sit and talk about you. The stars can be great listeners sometimes."

I loved living in the moment whenever pansy was near, but it's easy to get lost when reminiscing about our past.

Meeting Pansy for the first time in second year was a thrill. Going up to the astronomy tower with Professor Sinistra while everyone groaned about the unruly amount of steps. Pansy walked in front of me with her shiny hair swaying with half of it pinned up by an equally shiny emerald ribbon.

Tapping her shoulder, I told her, "Hi, your hair is really pretty." Which earned me a bright smile and a proud thank you. Someone called her name right after and she talked to them the rest of the way up, but we both sneaked glances and small, shy smiles at each other for the rest of class.

The part that excited me the most was at the end of the lesson when she walked right up to me to properly introduce herself. She seemed a little nervous and giggly taking my hand for a handshake. To be honest, it was a sight most people didn't expect from the tough Slytherin, but nonetheless a sight I'd never get tired of.

"It was rude of me not to introduce myself earlier. I'm Pansy Parkinson," the wide smile made me all warm inside.

I grasped onto her hand for the first of many times, "I'm Y/N L/N, you gotta tell me your hair secrets." We both threw our heads back, filled with laughter.

"There are some things I keep to myself though," she hummed waiting for me to continue. I brought my lips up to her ear to whisper, "That I think you're prettier than the entire night sky. It's so that they don't get jealous."

"Stop," she jokingly pushed me off of her and looked back to the night sky.

By third year Pansy and I spent almost every free second together. Oftentimes sneaking into each other's dorms past curfew, sharing a bed and favorite stories from before Hogwarts. She reminded me of the warmth of the sun lingering on my skin after a long day at the beach. And so I told her a memory of going on vacation and seeing a crab walk along the sand.

She gasped and said, "This one time my family and I took a day trip to the beach and I saw this boy just pick up a crab right from the water." She laughed at my dropped jaw, completely mind blown by the courage and stupidity.

"There's no way, you must be lying." Her only response was her shaking her head no while she leaned on my shoulder, with her arms clinging to her stomach as she laughed uncontrollably. She was shushed by one of my roommates, making us want to laugh even harder.

Eventually, we settled down into a sleep that came much later than it should've.

We were both on our backs with a hand from each of us interlocked. Our free hands pointing up at the stars, our mouths revealing why certain ones are our favorites.
