(This was from a hc request from @/elemental-of-magic on tumblr saying "Cho Chang was bold and never nervous to put someone in they're place. I also feel like in a modern au she would love Narnia.")

• oh my god yes, she would overhear like some fifth year getting mouthy with one of the second years and walk right up to them
• absolutely no hesitation
• I feel like she'd be like a mom in that situation
• protecting the ones that may need some extra help
• I think cho developed that skill because it was hard for her to gain friends at the beginning of her first year
• like maybe she was picked on a tiny bit either before hogwarts or during bc she preferred to relax than obnoxiously run around with the other kids
• either way she gained thick skin really fast
• cho also knows that anything anyone says back is simply just trying to get a reaction
• she'd be the president of the debate team
• which also means that other students (particularly gryffindors) (sorry 😳) try to argue with her for funsies
• sometimes during her downtime in the library someone will come up to her with a controversial topic
• and bc cho is nice and friendly she looks up and starts a normal conversation
• but the second someone starts to get into a debate she holds up her book and goes
• "I'm reading. narnia is way more amusing then anything you have to say"
•  (maybe like one of her parents snuck the books into her trunk before she left hoping she'd like it) (new hc each year they give her a new book/series for her to get into over the term)
• the surrounding students will try so hard not to laugh because she just roasted the fuck out of someone and it was hilarious
• she either holds her ground and sits there ignoring anything else they have to say, or she will simply grab her stuff and leave without looking back at them
• I wholeheartedly believe that she would also not apologize
• not because she's stuck up or anything
• but bc she knows she was either sticking up for what's right, or protecting something (her dignity is included)
