"Merlin," you shouted in the hallway while leaving Snape's class. The yell earned many strange looks from passing students. You dropped your books from how startled you were, but Sirius was quick to start to pick them up.

"What's that, darling?" He asked as he shuffled your books into his right arm, with you tucked in under his left.

You muttered something that was supposed to resemble the word 'nothing' while he gave a kiss to your temple.

"Sorry, babe, you know I just can't help it. Surprised you don't expect it at this point,." You didn't have to look up to know that stupid grin was plastered on his face. "Anyways," he drawled out. "Where to next?"

"You know where we're going," you rolled your eyes and wrapped your right arm around his as best as possible. He could sense your struggling and moved to where you could hold hands instead. Which was much easier for you.

"As you wish." He brought the back of your hand to his lips before dropping it and rushing forward. "Forward ho! To the food!" Resulting in a loud laugh from you.

Before he could turn around and wait for you, you turned around and hid behind a pillar. A few odd looks came your way, but you ignored them.

"Y/N, where'd you go?" Sirius's heavy footsteps rang louder as he neared. You squished yourself closer to the side of the pillar, hoping to hide as much as yourself as possible.

"Boo!" You jumped out right on time. Sirius stopped in his tracks, books now on the floor. His wide eyes and dropped jaw made you almost fall over in laughter.

"Hey, no fair," he whined, dropping down to pick up both of your guy's books.

"What do you mean 'no fair'? I just got payback for you scaring me a few minutes earlier." It was your turn to have shock on your face. Though it wasn't from fear, but from disbelief at what he said.

"Yeah, yeah, whatever," you bent down to help with the few papers that spilled across the floor.

You two bickered for a few more moments. Sirius said something about just wanting to eat. You told him that he still will.

"What is going on here?" A deep, slow voice said. Which ultimately scared both of you. Not entirely realizing the hall still wasn't empty.

Luckily, this time not a single book fell, but you stood straight up, meeting Snape's eyes.

"Cleaning up," Sirius gestured to the books in his hand.

"Just heading to the great hall for lunch," you added. You nodded your head behind you. Snape squinted, eyes shifting between you and Sirius. He was probably upset he wasn't able to get you two into trouble.

"Alright then, off to lunch you go." With that, you and Sirius rushed off to lunch. Excited to tell the rest of the marauders about your run-in with Snape.
