2). BEGINNING OF OUR MISSION

Clark, Emma, Rachel, Logan, and I stood in a line side by side as Mitchell walked in front of us all.  We were all packed for the mission and it was time to fly to New York which is where it will be held. The FBI headquarters are in Virginia, so we had to take a plane to New York.

"I'm proud of you five for being brave enough to take this challenge. This mission is not like your other mission. This  is much more dangerous even though it might not seem like it right now." Mitchell said to us five.

Emma made a funny face. "What's so bad about being a high schooler? We dealt harder before."

He pursed his lips. "Sweetheart, I can guarantee you that it was a child's play."

"Huh?" Clark asked in extreme surprise. "I nearly lost my leg in one of your child's plays. How can that be so…."

Mitchell raised his hand to calm him down. "I have given everything for what you have to do. It seems cool to be a highschool student but it's a danger that you don't know about."

Clark was about to say something when Emma shut him up. He threw an angry look at her. Mitchell walked over to me and smiled slightly. "April will lead the mission. April, who would you appoint to be second in command?"

"Emma." I said firmly. Emma has always been second in command when I was the leader.  She's like my sister and I've always felt a close connection with her.

Emma stepped up with a happy smile. "I'll have Logan's help with me. Don't worry about it."

Mitchell shook his head. "I trust you, Emma and I trust April's choice. And..." He looked up at Logan who stood behind us. Like I said, always the gentleman, even standing behind us girls. "Logan can help Emma, Clark and the new member as well."

"Rachel's our responsibility from now on, sir. She's a part of our gang." He said firmly like a soldier.

"Good luck to all five of you then. It's time for you to set off." Mitchell said as we started walking towards our private plane. "Make sure to report to me whenever you can. If it is possible otherwise, don't bother risking it."

Some men took our luggages and piled it onto the plane. We all got on and found our own seats. Our names, embossed neatly in gold. Right before the plane door closed, Mitchell walked in and looked at us all seriously.

"One last thing," he started off saying in a monotone voice that caught everybody's attention. "I'd be more than surprised if all five of you come back alive. Be careful. You never know who somebody really is."

With that, he stepped off the plane and we took off.  I looked at the others to see them paler than usual. Nobody has ever received a threat like that before. If Mitchell says what he just said, then I can feel it's going to be a tough mission. I still wonder what it could be.  "We'll live." I reassured them simply.

"You guys have a higher chance of living." Rachel said from beside me.

"Why's that?" I asked.

"You guys have gone on more missions than me and I've failed a couple, whereas you guys haven't ever failed once." She shrugged her shoulders. I could sense she was afraid. I should admit, we all were! But as a leader, I have to give them hope. They are not just my team members, they are my family. And I should take care of them.   I stared at her sympathetically.  She had a point. She does have a higher chance of dying.  I held her hand comfortably.

"I'll protect you. You won't die ... I promise." I said and Rachel looked at me with a small smile.

Logan unbuckled his belt and sprang up. "Look, I know it's going to be extremely difficult but remember, we dealt with more dangerous and difficult things before, right?"
