Meredith's POV

Hearing Addison say this makes my heart completely melt. It's like she knew exactly what I was thinking.

"I feel the exact same way Addie." I look up and catch a glimpse of her gorgeous green eyes, hoping that I'll get to see them every day for the rest of my life.

She has on her scrub cap that makes her eyes pop with color. It's one of my favorites of hers. The cap has an intricate purple, blue, and green peacock feather design on it. I have on my standard blue scrub cap that matches my scrubs.

I was about to work up the courage and ask her an important question, but she turns off the scrub sink and says,

"Well, it's time to save a life." She leans over me, careful not to break scrub, and pecks me on the cheek, as if it's habit.

We walk over to the automatic door and enter the operating room. The scrub nurse snaps the long, sky blue surgical gloves over Addison's dainty hands.

She steps into the lead surgeon's spot while I go around to the other side of the table,  and prepared to make the first cut.

"Alright everyone, here we go." She says. I can't see her mouth, but I know she's smiling because her eyes are lit up.

Our surgery went flawlessly and we were out within a couple of hours. Addison was able to keep the baby in and she fixed the patients' internal injuries.

I felt like I was on a high after that surgery; saving that moms life, that babies life. Standing across from the most beautiful, smart, confident woman in surgery. She really does bring out the best in me.

Addison and I walk out to the waiting room, me in my light blue resident scrubs and Addison in her navy blue attending scrubs. We inform the patients husband that his wife made it out of surgery and is going to make full recovery, and she should carry to term.

He can't go back to see her yet because she's in the ICU, so Addie and I head to an on-call room to take a nap. We've both been on call for the past two days and are exhausted.

We check our surroundings before entering the on-call room, and walk in when the coast is clear. I lock the door behind me and take Addie's hand, leading her to the window.

It's about eleven at night, and it's pitch black outside. The stars are shining brightly behind the oak trees swaying in the wind. I turn and face Addison, finally having built up the courage to say what's been on my mind.

"Addie, I don't want to be with anyone but you. I don't want you to be with anyone but me. I want us to be together. Will you be my girlfriend?"

Addison flashes the most beautiful smile to me and looks into my eyes.

"There is nothing I would love more than to be your girlfriend Meredith Grey." Addison giggles and kisses the top of my nose. I wrap my arms around her neck and we stand there  a for a minute, taking in the moment.

Addison breaks the silence and whispers into my ear,

"What do you say we crawl into bed and just lay a while."

I nod my head grinning ear to ear. I start taking all my clothes off, and Addie does the same. I stand there watching the moonlight glimmer off of her body.
