Meredith's POV

It's been two weeks since Bailey caught Addison and I in the elevator. She must be really pissed off because I haven't been on hers or Addisons service since then.

It's also been two weeks since the storm. The reason Addison and I were stuck in the elevator for so long was because there was a superstorm, and a tree knocked down the power lines.

For some reason the backup generators didn't work, so a lot of surgeons were left operating in the dark.

When we stepped off that elevator it was like all hell had broken loose. There were papers scattered everywhere, charts left unattended. It was a real madhouse.

Addie and I ended up saving our pregnant patient, but the surgery was intense. That was the last time we operated together. My feet have been dragging ever since then.

I'm walking the halls, on my way to the tunnels when Cristina walks up behind me.

"What's been going on with you lately? Are you feeling all dark and twisty inside?" She asks me with a goofy look on her face. I sigh and simply reply,

"Yes,"

"Do you wanna talk about it?" She questions me.

"On the day of the storm, Addison and I got trapped in the elevator..." I start.

"Someone got their yayas out." She says with a taunting laugh. I smack her arm lightly and glare at her.

"Yes, but that's not the point. We were sitting on the floor of the elevator cuddling and fell asleep. That's when the doors opened and Bailey caught us. I haven't been on either of their services since." I finish.

"Well you can't get in trouble for cuddling her. Technically, she didn't see anything. At least not the real show." She smirks. I roll my eyes and let out another sigh.

"I just don't know how much longer she's gonna keep this up for. And to be honest, I don't know how much longer I can handle it. We've been on opposite schedules for the last two weeks and have barely seen each other."

"Just remember that Bailey can't do this forever. Your schedules will align eventually Mer." She assured me.

"I'm gonna go find her and see if we can make plans. Thanks for the pep talk." I hop off the gurney, and start making my way through the brick tunnel.

I had just turned the corner when I see the familiar wave of red. I smile and then remember to keep my composure.

"Hey Doctor Montgomery, could I talk to you for a minute?" I ask professionally.

"Sure, Grey." She responds and leads me to the residents lounge. We walk into the room, closing the door behind us.

I close the blinds and I turn around to face her. I pull her in for a deep hug, and I melt in the warmth. This is this first time I've seen her in a couple of days so I'm glad we ran into each other.

"I missed you." I say, my cheeks warm.

"I missed you too baby." Addie replies, following with her planting a kiss on my forehead.

"When are you off next?" I ask her.

"I'm off at seven. What time are you off?" She asks me.

"I'm off at eight. Maybe you could wait up for me and you could come home with me?"

"I would love that. Order in or eat out?" She asks me with a mischievous grin.

"Hmmm..." I tap my chin. "How about both?" I suggest, putting my hand on her waist. We're interrupted when the door to the residents lounge opens, and Alex Karev walks in.
