Meredith's POV:
"Cristina pleaseeee..." I beg her. I've been trying to get her to cover my shift for a week.
" I know you want to go to LA with your girlfriend but I'm already working in cardio this week." She has a smug look on her face and I punch her in the arm.
"You sure have loved being on Teddys service haven't you?" I lift my eyebrows at her and I can see her face get red.
"It's just that I love cardio. Hot... sexy, cardio. Anyways I'm not giving it up. Ask one of the others."
"Fine, but I can see what's going on with you two." This time she punches me in the arm.
"Mer there's nothing going on between me and teddy."
"Okayyyy whatever you say." We're walking down the hospital hallway and I see Izzie and George leaning over the counter while looking at a chart.
"I'll see you later Cristina." I say, ditching her and running towards the two.
"Hey any chance either of you could cover me for a couple of days this week?" I ask them, batting my eyelashes at them.
"Why, is everything okay?"
"Yeah everything's fine. Addie... erm... asked me to come to Los Angeles with her for a few days."
"Mer we're not gonna cover you for a few days just so you can get some. Especially when you guys haven't been shy since you came out to us." Izzie says with a sly look on her face.
"Guys... she wants me to come with her to meet her best friends. Her surrogate family basically. This is a big deal and I told her I would get my shifts covered."
Izzie's face brightens up and I can tell she's getting excited.
"Mer! You're meeting her friends? Her non-hospital friends!" George looks bored so I pull her aside so I can talk to her alone.
"Izzie what if they don't like me. What if the disapprove of her being in a lesbian relationship. What if I fuck this all up?"
"Mer you are a dream. You're gonna do great. Just remember to smile and be kind."
I get scared and ask, "am I not kind!?"
"No Mer that's not what I meant. You are very kind. You can just be... a little dark and twisty some times."
"Ahhh right. Dark and twisty Meredith." I roll my eyes at her and sigh.
"You're gonna do great Mer, and I'll cover your shifts."
A big smile creeps on my face and I grab her forehead, and kiss it. "You're a godsend Izzie thank you so much I will make it up to you."
I feel a woosh of air behind me and I smell a familiar scent. Brown sugar. I smile and turn around and see that wave of beautiful red hair followed by the most beautiful set of green eyes.
"Hey gorgeous!" I smile at her and stand on my tippy toes to give her a kiss. "Meredith!" She exclaims. "We have to talk to the chief before we get too public. But at the same time I missed you. We've been on opposite shifts since we talked last week."
"Well guess what, Addie?" She raises an eyebrow so I share the good news with her. "We're going to LA baby."

It's two days later and Addie is at my house. We've got a cooler in the backseat with sandwich stuff and different dried fruits and nuts in it. We've decided that we're gonna drive out there and I let Izzie know and she said she would cover what she said she would and George will cover what he can.
"Do you have everything you need, Mer?"
"Yup. Phone, charger, purse, clean clothes, shoes, bathing suit, sunscreen and many many other things. What about you babes?"
"Yup I've got everything that I need. But there's one thing I'm missing."
"Oh yeah? What's that?" I ask her. She smirks and leans into me giving me a long, slow, and sensual kiss. Ever so lightly grazing my teeth with her tongue.
"This."
"I love you Addie."
"I love you too, Mer." She says back. We lug our suitcases into the rental car and she gets into the drivers seat, while I get into the passenger seat. With that, we are off.

Y'all... I can't believe how long it's been since I truly updated this story. I wanted to do a longer chapter but I've decided that I need to go to bed and I'm too excited to not post this tonight. I know it's a short chapter but I'm trying to just ease myself back into it. Thank you so much for being so kind and so patient. I plan to write more tomorrow seeing as I was kind of on a role today. I will also be updating my new story tomorrow as well. Anyways, i love y'all and goodnight💖✨
