I went down there as quietly as possible and luckily no one was there. I waited for Benjamin to give me the 'okay' that I could come out, but instead he climbed down there with me. I was very confused but all he said was "Nelson's mad he wants to kill me, just be quiet and hide."
I got nervous but did what Benjamin said. We were down there for about 30 minutes, I heard people walking down the stairs and talking. For a second I couldn't quite make out who they were but then it clicked, it was Deb and Nelson and someone else. It was a guy, he seemed to be in distress, and he was trying to scream for help.
I recognized the voice from somewhere but I just didn't know, Benjamin didn't either. Deb and Nelson never said a name so we had no idea who it was until Deb said "Nelson, let's put him down there" and we both knew that they meant down here.
We started to panic but we found a really tight hiding spot. We couldn't see the latch from where we were but we heard a bang, which we thought was them throwing him down there. We waited a few minutes until we knew that they were gone, but we had realized that they took the ladder and locked the latch, so we were stuck.
I was eager to see who it was, and so was Benjamin. We unstuck ourselves from the hiding spot and stood up, I think we startled him but when I looked at him I couldn't really tell who he was.
He had a wound on his chest, which looked to be from a bullet. He had this weird mask on his face and was wrapped up in rope. The mask looked familiar, I didn;t remember from where though. It had red eyes and some liquid in test tubes on both sides, it made his voice glitchy and hard to hear. He was wearing a lab coat that was covered in blood, the blood was dried and looked old and it seemed to be burned as well. He looked to have blonde hair that was really dirty so it was turning brown.
It was hard to understand him through the mask so I simply asked
"Do you need help?" He nodded yes so me and Benjamin began to untie him. Once we had got him free, he stretched out for a second, it seemed like he had been tied up for a while. We helped him stand up and he tried to say something. It was really hard to understand him, but after a few minutes Benjamin decorated what he was saying. He had said "What are you guys doing down here? And why did Deborah throw me in here?" So it was Deb.
I replied with "How do you know Deb, or us? And who are you?" Benjamin looked at me like he was about to ask the same question. There was an awkward silence, I think he needed to think. "You're Jordan Kendall and he's Benjamin Cobalt, right?"
Me and Benjamin looked at each other, confused on how he knew us. "Well can you tell us who you are, and why Deb and Nelson were treating you like that?" I looked at us, like we were expected to know him. I knew Benjamin would go for the mask and try to rip it off of his face if he got desperate enough to know him. I tried to stand in front of him, still giving him room to see.
"Deb kidnapped me, she says it was 'under Nelson's orders' . I've been hiding around here wherever she wants me to for 11 years now."
We were both in shock and didn't know what to say, but Benjamin finally stepped up and said "Why did they do that to you? Again who are you?" He was being very impatient and began to reach for the man's mask. I quickly stepped in front of Benjamin but he didn't see me so I fell backwards and bumped into the guy. I knocked his mask off...
