The next day comes quickly and Namjoon finds himself in the recording studio waiting for Hyejin.

He had just finished recording the rough guide for the song so it'll be easier for her to follow along and get a feel for the message he was trying to convey.

Listening back to the instrumental, he mentally pats himself on the back for how good it turned out.

He moves to sit on the long velvet sofa with a paper in hand containing the lyrics to the song that he would give to Hyejin.

He skims through the entirety of his writing and is pretty proud of himself. It was surely difficult to come up with the right words, but the end result made it so worth it.

With ballads, you must bare your soul if you want to really capture the hearts of those listening. You must convey message with poetic but also distinct recollection and feeling. He truly feels as though he captured what he was trying to put out completely.

But as of which, kind of made him nervous for Hyejin to read it, let alone sing.

Because in reality, it's about her.

In the wee hours of the night, when he was at his wits end trying to come up with just the sheer concept of the song, he thought of her. And how she made him feel. How she turned his view of the world and people upside down, just by being authentically her.

The words seemed to flow ever so effortlessly after that.

He had never been so encapsulated by anyone before, not even his former girlfriend or past flings.

To him, Hyejin is the entire package. Yes, she's stunning and has a body that has caught his attention too many times to count. But beyond that she's smart, funny, caring, humble, talented, selfless, and extremely kind.

He is proud to be her friend, or whatever they are. Namjoon runs his hand through his hair as that thought passes.

The song, in Namjoon's mind, essentially is his open letter to her, revealing how much she consumes his thoughts, how it's forbidden, but he'd risk it all to have her his... even if it's only in his imagination, even for just a night.

Yes, he wrote a love song for Hyejin.

But he decides not to tell her the true meaning of the song should she ask. He already prepared a bullshit answer knowing that she'd be curious of his artistic process.

Truthfully he wasn't ready. He wasn't ready to succumb to the unknown. Where he is with Hyejin is fine with him right now. It's obvious and comfortable.

He fears that admitting he wants more than that would eventually lead to heartbreak, like it did with Yongsun.

He would rather have her in his life at any capacity, even if that means not having her as his.

10 minutes later a soft knock comes from the transparent door.

He looks up and sees Hyejin waving at him holding up a cupholder with iced coffees for the both of them.

He smiles at the sight of her and her generosity, and quickly motions for her to come in.

"I've come bearing gifts." Hyejin says melodically as she walks in.

"You're my savior. I'll take this for you. Please sit." I Namjoon jokes but he's really thankful because he barely had any sleep last night. Caffeine is surely needed. He takes the cupholder and her coat which is drenched.

"Sorry I'm late. People always somehow forget to drive when it rains." She says in a huff.

"It's raining?" He looks out the small window of the studio and it is completely pouring. "Sorry Hyej. I feel bad having you come here when the weather conditions are so bad."
