This land was like all of his childhood dreams coming true. Magic was real, dragons were pets, he'd friends with a siren and danced with fairies. If he could move down here and stay forever he would, it was like anything you wished for was real and you for grabs.

You'd dragged him into a tavern to try ghost brew, and needless to say he was hooked the second he tasted it. It was sweeter than any human food he'd had and with his sweet tooth it was pure bliss. After that you pulled him through the town to see the way it was all built. There were treehouses for the creatures that could fly, small houses in flowerbeds for fairies, stables for the pet dragons. Markets lined the streets selling all kinds of things from food to potions to spells. Clothing stores carried clothes in all shapes and sizes to accommodate all the different creatures.

Some had extra holes for tails and wings to stick out of, hats had extra space for horns or animal eras, gloves were made to fit webbed hands and shoes made to fit hooves.

There was so much to see and so much to do. Even in the dead of night the town was alive with all the nocturnal creatures and late night dwellers roaming the streets.

You took him to do everything you could think of, taste the food, shop for useful things, explore the woods and pet the dragons. You'd never seen someone so full of awe before, he looked so happy, the smile wouldn't leave his face at all. It was cute, he was cute.

With his hood up and satchel hanging off his shoulder he followed you back through the town having seen all the sights for the night. He wanted to explore as much of this land as he could but if he got any more sidetracked he'd cause Watari to panic seeing he want in his bedroom the next morning. Plus, tomorrow was the day he finally met the new boys for the first time. He kind of had to be there.

"Next time I'm able to come down for a while can we go past the woods and into the next town? I wanna see what it's like" he asked.

"Sure, I'll rent you a small boat and dock it by the shore so you can get across without getting wet next time" you explained.

"It's not expensive is it? I'd hate to-"

"L is fine, this is a riverside town and the ocean is just up the river too, small boats aren't that expensive here since people need them all the time"

He felt kind of bad for not being able to pay for anything here himself, since he only had human currency. Bottlebrush bay and the rest of the land took chiplings that you showed him were like little gem coins and not British pounds. Maybe there was some way to exchange it?

"Thank you. And we need to get more ghost brew too, that was amazing" he smiled.

"Don't drink too much you'll get drunk, but yeah it's literally the best drink there is. We'll definitely get more" you replied.

Reaching the riverbank again, he found you to be telling the truth when you said crime rate was low here. His surfboard was exactly where he left it leaning up against a tree.

"I'll teach you how to make coconut crush next time as well. Siren delicately, best snack ever. Also it's just fun to smash coconuts" you said.

"That reminds me, if each type is magic creature has its own history and culture does that mean there's things like traditional festivals and holidays here?" He asked.

He was curious wasn't he? He wanted to know everything about... well, everything. You didn't blame him for wanting to know about magic more, it's not every day you stumble upon a magic land. But you were rather surprised how thorough his questions were getting.

"Yeah there's holidays and festivals and stuff. Merfolk celebrate the summer solstice, yokai have moon viewing festivals, the fae are known for their mushroom parties. It'd take me ages to list everything" you explained.
