"Are you ready?" Soobin asked all of us before opening the door.
All of us. Blinding arrived first, but the crew wanted us to wait for Full Moon before we went inside. It would wake the illusion that we arrived together and were already one group.
Anyway, now we were ready.
I entered the meeting room, greeted the cameras with my cute smile, and sat down in a random chair. They said if we sat mixed, it would be even better, so Kitae sat down in the chair next to me. I wish he was never born.
He dyed his hair since last time. It was purple now. At least he's not ugly. None of the members are visually challenged, actually.
"Alright, everyone." Soobin taking the lead again.
"We need a group name. Does anybody have suggestions or ideas?"
My hand flew in the air. I've thought about it. It wasn't my intention to have an idea, I just wanted screen time. But I had an idea. I wanted to be pushed towards it by the others so it looked spontaneous.
You might read this and wonder if all K-pop idols are like this. Setting up schemes to get more screen time. Here's the answer: probably. Am I selfish for wanting attention? I guess it's as addictive as a drug, and I love to be seen as an artist, but maybe even more as a person.
If I say that, you might think I prefer being a celebrity over an artist. Would it then come to a surprise to you that I'd choose artist over celebrity any day?
Anyway, I'm sitting here, and I'm about to fight so they will push me in the right direction.
"I don't have a name, but I think that it needs to be light themed. Full Moon, Blinding, see? It's already something we have in common."
Everybody nodded.
"We really are just a combination. Are there any other nice words for combination? Hm, combination of light." Hyunsik asked.
"Blend?" I said.
"No, bonding is better." Kitae answered.
"What about fusion?" I asked instead. I wouldn't let him win.
It was clear that we were the lyric writers, gifted with words. But I was more gifted, I was better. I needed to be. Kitae's glare sent shivers down my spine.
Really, this was not the direction I wanted to go in. It's boring and unoriginal. I just wanted to show them I'm a better walking thesaurus than Kitae.
"I don't know if I want to go in that direction with this, though. I don't want to be a combination. I want to be something entirely new." Yujeong said. She's my perfect ally.
"Right. This could have been any 2 groups. Weren't we picked because everyone thought we would work together well? Like individual trainees getting picked for a group?" I answered. That's not the truth anyway, and I'm really pushing, but it's necessary. I chose a name already, and it needs to get out here.
"Heejin is right. We are not members of Blinding and Full Moon anymore. For now, we're just chosen trainees. Our groups so far only showed the potential that we've had to work together. We're just, idk, redebuting."
Dohyun supported me. I thanked him. He was getting there."I agree. It's like a rebirth for us as artists." Hyunsik commented. REBIRTH?? YES!! THANK YOU!! But I have to be discrete, so I whisper.
"Rebirth? Hmmm.." I stared into a wall.
Anna laughed and talked to the guys: "Do you see her now? That's her thinking face. You can visibly see the gears in her head turning."
At her words, I look up surprised and laugh innocently: "No, I was just thinking about a word. Maybe I have an idea."
