"What are you thinking?"

"I'm still wondering if adding that extra harmony was good. Maybe it was too much."

"No, Heejin, it's better. It adds depth. Soobin did well, and I turned down the volume a lot compared to the topline."

Dohyun was taking some notes, and he saved the audiofile. It was the day of the album recording, and Anna and Kitae had taken the other studio. We usually would take our time to do this, but there was a chronic lack of time to prepare this album.

Coaching and recording vocals for 10 different members is rough enough. We were done with that this morning after spending all day yesterday, and then we'd worked on the songs the whole day in two teams. Somehow, after the swiftness of the recording, we'd slowed down a ton. Putting a song together is not as easy as it seems. It was a patchwork of voices, and with a complicated and new team, it just took longer. But we promised ourselves that the quality of the final work would not be lower because we are new to each other.

But because we'd recorded the title track way in advance so we could prepare the choreography and music video asap, there was a little less pressure.

The members could already sing very well, and we weren't going to promote any bsides, we only needed to get the songs recorded well and sent through, and we'd be done with the album.

We had our 5 precious songs, and the MV shoot was already over. The album design was in its final stages as we sent the last batch of songs through. Now, the only thing we needed to worry about was practice, practice, practice, promote, ...

Oh, and the show.

The teaser video was dropping tonight.

Someone knocked on the door, not bothering to wait for permission.

"You two! How's it going?"

Anna and Kitae barged into the small studio.

"We're done. What about you?" Dohyun grumbled.

"We are too, but I thought it would be nice to have everybody listen and evaluate before we actually send it, so I called the members." Anna answered cheerily.

"Right, I heard they've been practising this whole morning." I sighed. I wish they wouldn't always work this hard. "We're going to have to work twice as hard to catch up with their progress." I laughed.

Kitae rolled his eyes at my comment, and my smile disappeared, but the door opened again, revealing the 6 other members in surprisingly clean clothes. Maybe they hadn't worked as diligently as they said they would.

A collective greeting surfaced from them.

"Okay, everyone, listen up!" Dohyun yelled. It was the first time I saw him act like a leader.
"We're listening to the songs. This is the very last time before our colleagues are editing the mix. Then they are officially finished, so if you have an opinion, don't think twice."

He played the first song that we'd worked on for the entire morning. Everybody thought it was okay, except for some extra sound effects at an especially loud part. On the other tracks, objections were minimal.

When we sent the finished songs to who needed them and left the studio, a burden had left our schoulders only for a new one to be put on us the moment we walked in the meeting room. The obnoxiously eye-catching bouquet of fake flowers was dirtier and set aside for today.

The group sat down after greeting all the staff members in the room. There was nobody from Mzet here, and the cameras seemed to have left with the producer. It was eerily quiet for a few seconds before the door creeked open, and JYP entered. Of course, everyone stood up from their seats again, and the greeting process restarted.
