"Shush, hold still. This is the last of it."

She splattered my face with silver strikes and golden dots around my eyes. I looked like an 8 year old child's art project. Or a Pollock piece.

"And, just like that, finished." She said as if she hadn't been working on my make-up for at least an hour.

It was amazing work. You couldn't even see my eyebags.

There wasn't much time for breaks. My hair was done in simple-looking, but elaborate braids, and with a few extra accessories to the outfit I had already put on, it was time for filming.

It was the second day of filming our music video, I came at 6 am today after a whopping 2 hours of sleep to film the intro and the last chorus.

The staff had discussed how the video would work and eventually asked us if we had suggestions, a feeble attempt at giving us more artistic freedom. Despite my best efforts, Kitae and I would be the centre of the video because we're centre in the first chorus and the bridge. At least, that's what they said, but I think it has to do with us being considered pretty.

Our original official positions had faded over time. I'll tell you a secret: Kitae was not the visual back then. Chanwoo was. Although, I wondered why because Kitae had a soft yet defined jawline, a long nose, and pretty full lips. He did have monolids, and I think that's why, but I have always liked his monolids. It fit him so well.

Nobody should tell him that, though, he can't get too cocky. Maybe his fans can, just in case he feels insecure and wants to get surgery. I wouldn't stop him for the sake of my pride, but I would be upset.

He came out of the make-up tent and jiggled over to me, covered in golden jewels. They had asked him to tan, and his white outfit was showing quite a bit of skin. I was also very visible, but I was fully covered in silver and black sheer material.

He was kind of annoying, writing lyrics in a stupid chair, halfnaked.

There was a lot of contrast in the music, in the lyrics and they wanted to pull it through to the video too, but my golden hoop earrings and face paint and the silver streaks on his face and on his clothes here and there, resembling some type of blood, suggested that our worlds had gotten mixed up.

Like it was all wrong but it had happened, and nobody realised but everybody knew, somehow. And you're aware of it only when you're dreaming, but you don't know why or how. The only thing you know is that something is off and you're doing all the wrong things right and the right things wrong, and you have no idea what. The world has never been black and white, but it seems like everything has become greyer. I look into the mirror of your eyes, but I'm not the one looking back at you.

"You good?" He asked, his voice groggy.

"Confused." I answered, only polite because I noticed the camera in his hands.

"Why?"
The camera was all around me. He spun it and threw it around me as I told him.

"Because I was super excited to film this music video, you know, as Phoenix, but I'm so tired I am barely experiencing it. I'm happy, though. It's going to be like nothing before."

"Artists required on set" I heard someone's megaphone and my body moved on its own, ignoring the soreness of the muscles and the urge to close my eyes and fall down on the spot into a deep sleep.

Kitae followed me.

The set was very interesting.

A small mirror maze had been set up, and we were given instructions. We had to act out me, the darkness, chasing him, the light, and because of the mirrors and everything we end up together and when we meet I corrupt him and we do our little dance.
