"Dean?" I called out, my breath catching in my throat as I frantically darted my eyes around the room. We just got back inside the motel and Dean was gone. And I stood there in the doorway as Sam searched the rest of the room for him.
"He's not here." He sighed when he came back to the door.
"Well, we've gotta go find him." I said as I turned to go back out the door when Sam grabbed my arm, stopping me.
"Eva, we can't."
"Why not?"
"He clearly doesn't wanna see us right now so why go after him if we're only gonna push him away?"
"But we can't just leave him, we're running out of time." I argued as I tried to free my arm from his grip. "As long as we leave him out there, his time--his life grows shorter and shorter."
"He doesn't want our help."
"I don't care. I can't let him just throw his life away."
"Alright fine." He finally said, releasing me. "How about we just go to sleep and talk about this in the morning."
"But Sam-"
"Eva. We'll talk about it in the morning."

As I laid in bed, the sunlight breaking through the curtains, I found it difficult to drag myself out from under the sheets. I hadn't slept at all last night and the longer I laid there awake, the more I thought that maybe it wasn't such a good idea to go out looking for Dean. As much as I wanted to find him and drag him back here, I knew that he wouldn't come.
After laying there for another ten minutes or so, I finally decided to get up. But when I looked over to the other bed, Sam wasn't there. "Sam?!"
Nothing.
I quickly got changed and before I could start anything else, the door clicked open. Sam came hurrying in with a paper bag and some coffees in his hands. "Sorry, I went out to get breakfast."
"You didn't have to."
"Of course I did. You're Dean's...well, something. He'd want me to look after you."
"I'm not Dean's anything anymore. He doesn't want anything to do with me."
Sam sat down at the table, carefully dropping the food in front of me. "If that were true, he wouldn't have made a deal to bring you back."
"If only he just left me to rot."
"Don't say that."
"Why not? None of this would even be happening if he just let me go."
"God you sound just like him." He muttered.
"What do you mean?"
"When our dad died...Dean blamed himself. He thought things woulda been so much better if he'd just stayed dead."
"I know."
"Yeah?"
"Ages ago, we talked and he told me. But it doesn't even matter now, because he's gonna die anyway, because of me."
