Chapter 3: New Home

They were about an hour out from La. She had fallen asleep halfway through the flight. Justin took out his iPad that had started ringing and accepted the call from Lorenzo. He knew that his brother and stepmother were probably wanting an update about what was going on. "We're heading back."

Lorenzo was slightly confused having remembered the two saying they were going to stay the night in Cali and come back the next day. "I thought that y'all were staying the night."

Justin sighed it had been the plan to rest before coming back but the two had thought better. Especially since there sister made it clear she didn't want to stay with them. "We were until we realized that if we stay and fall asleep on her she is going to run."

Aviana came into the picture she was unsure of why Adalind would want to run."What?"

Matteo moved to sit next to his brother he knew it didn't make much sense to them either. "Yeah she bargained for Juvie rather than moving."

"Did y'all do what you were supposed to do their?" Lorenzo asked he knew all the brothers wanted the person who took their mother away dead.

"No need for codewords Lorenzo I know why your brothers left." Aviana knew everything she wasn't the Mafia Queen for nothing. She knew that her stepsons had finally found the man responsible for their mother's death and took care of him once and for all. "So did y'all kill him did you find out anything about how your mother died?"

"Yeah from Adalind. After we killed her one and only guardian. And made her an orphan." Justin knew that they probably didn't need to tell her about that.

"Does she know?" Lorenzo wondered what his little sister knew about the death of their mother or what her brothers were really doing there.

"No she hated the guy she told us when we reached the plane that she wouldn't get on it until we told what were we originally doing in Cali." They could say their sister wasn't exactly stupid she knew their was no way they could have gotten their that fast and they had to be already in Cali. "The DNA test took 2 hours and she wanted to know how did we get here if it's a 6 hour flight.

"What did you tell her?" Aviana knew that if she was with them they had told her something that she at least partially believed.

"We wanted answers on what happened to mom." Matteo knew it had been the easiest excuse and lucky for them she had bought it and came with them.

"And." Lorenzo knew she had to have some kind of opinion on what had happened.

"She said it was an overdose that the so-called husband who she can't stand was nowhere to be found for three days that she abandoned her children." Justin could tell that the three of them hadn't had the best relationship if she was happy they were gone. But he also felt as if there was more to the story. "She was a terrible mother she said she doesn't care what happened just that he deserved it and she hoped that it hurt."

"She sleep?" Aviana assumed that she was if they were telling them about what had happened.

"Yeah, she fell asleep an hour ago." Matteo was thankful for that he was sure him and Justin both had enough of her attitude for the day.

Justin chuckled he knew her attitude wasn't going to be fun for any of them. He just wanted to know what had happened to her over the last few years that she would bargain for Juvie over being with her family. "She is definitely stubborn has an attitude and is honest brutally honest. But it's obvious that she is not telling us everything. She was bargaining for Juvie she was pissed that her record was cleared and was already ready to ruin it. She would rather be in the system then with us."

"Ok so you two seriously think that she is going to try and run." Aviana knew that they were going to have to watch for the signs if she was.

Matteo nodded he was sure that his sister was going to take the first chance to try and run away. He hoped that they would be able to convince her otherwise. "We know that she is going to try to run she has made it clear that she does not plan on being here any longer than she has to."
