When Adalind got home she ran to her room locking the door. She moved her vanity opening it and finding the pocket knife she had in it. She moved it back trying to make sure that it didn't creak. She could hear steps nearing her room she went over to the window as her stepmom called out her name.
"Adalind?"
"Give me a few minutes." Adalind knew that her best friends wasn't stupid but right now the only thing she want to make sure of was that she had time for herself time to think.
"Vivian wants to talk to you." Aviana knew that Vivian seemed anxious about something but she wasn't sure what it was.
"Can you tell her I have homework." Adalind asked she knew Vivian would know the truth but it would at least buy her a few minutes and that was all she needed.
--
Aviana went back downstairs Vivian was searching drawers she needed something so she could pick the lock to her Adalind's room. She seen it in her best friends face and she knew what would happen if she didn't act fast. She finally found a Bobby pin holding it up. "Found it."
"She said she had homework." Aviana didn't know what else to tell her niece unsure of what was going on.
"She's never done homework in her life." Vivian ran upstairs and picked the lock to Adalinds room. She walked in and she was no where to be found. She groaned she was not about to be the one to explain what was going on to their family. "Adalind where are you?"
The brothers walked in wih Aviana confused why Adalind was not in her room. "Where did she go."
"Wasn't she just in here."
"Out the window." Vivian walked over to it and pushed it open knowing that her best friend had jumped and ran somewhere probably to cut. She knew she was going to have to get there and fast. "She has been cheerleading since she was 7 she jumped." She turned to them ignoring their shocked faces she didn't have any time to explain what was going . "Any loose floorboards in here?"
"Under the Vanity." Jaylen wasn't sure why she would need to know that but it was the only loose one in the room.
Vivian went and pushed the Vanity over taking out the floorboard. Seeing Adalind's stash of goods that she was assuming she got from her house before she left California. "2 tasers a gun a wad of cash and a journal from Kade. Speaking of which of you killed him." While they were looking at eachother she slipped the journal In her pocket. Before turning towards them.
"Who?" Dion asked not even knowing anyone named Kade.
"Your stepfather it wasn't you." She looked over to Justin and Matteo knowing that it had been one of them who made Adalind an orphan. "I was talking to the two that went and found Adalind there."
"I did." Justin answered he was the families hit man after all who else was going to kill someone and not get caught.
"Did you just say that she had a gun?" Aviana knew the boys weren't phased by this they grew up with it. But as their mother and stepmother she was concerned especially since Brooklynn had supposedly wanted to give Adalind a better life which is why no one was supposed to know about her.
"It's not hers and thank you Justin." Vivian knew that she was going to need to find Adalind but she was grateful that Justin had made sure that Warren could never hurt Adalind again even if he didn't know it.
"Why?" Justin was confused why his cousin was thanking him right now.
"For killing him now I have to go chase her give me an hour. If i'm not back then get worried." Vivian couldn't tell them this was between her Amanda and Adalind and their doctor who had made sure that Adalind was ok.
